“home from home with great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2011

The copperstone lodge is clean comfortable with plenty of room and plenty of parking underground, the rooms were cosy and nice and you have everything you need although minimal but enough, the bathroom was big and had everything that you need in it with fresh towels and pool towels, the hot tub was great although it does get busy, our room backed onto the hot tub and bbq area but by 10.30 pm it was fairly quiet and did not bother us, the balconey was big with plenty of seating area, we are non smokers but you can smoke on the balconey and the only thing that slightly bothered us was the bin under the sink stank of stale cigarettes or someone had put one down the sink but we reported it to reception when we checked out and they said it would get sorted but other than that we had a fab time and what a great place to stay.

Very large 2 BR 2 bath condo with full kitchen, AC, Clothes washer and dryer and dishwasher. Price was much less than anything I found in Canmore or Banff. Note: There is no breakfast. We bought stuff in Canmore and ate in but there is a small grill in the Husky station if you do not want to eat in. The drive to Banff is no problem (20 min or so to Banff town center 15 min to the park gate). DM Flats has nothing of interest but Canmore (10 minutes drive) is a bustling resort town with all the services you need. Checked in at 6PM. We asked for a quiet unit and had to wait till the staff readied it. Room was clean and quiet with comfortable furniture and comfy beds.

Be careful with lodging in Canmore. Many back to the railroad and it is a MAJOR east west route. No RR noise at our DMF Copperstone stay but it is fairly close to Rt 1.

The complex must be using DSL and the desk told us that it might be slow. It was tho I was able to muddle through. Don't plan on conducting business. Use the free wifi at Micky D's in Canmore.

Over all strongly recommended.

Room Tip: call ahead and ask for a quiet room.

My husband I stayed here a week ago for our 4th anniversary. We wanted something outside of Banff, and prices in the summer were high. We stumbled across Copperstone on Expedia and liked what we saw - including the price. Copperstone is about 5 minutes from Canmore and 15 from Banff. We were warmly greeted, treated well, and thoroughly enjoyed our room! The room was really a complete condo which was wonderful! Having just hiked for 5 days, we especially appreciated the kitchen to cook in, as well as the laundry in-suite. It should also be noted (bonus!) that this resort lies outside of the National Park boundary, so no pass is needed to stay there ($19 for every 24hrs). The xlg hot-tub was also enjoyable. All in all, we'd certainly stay here again!

Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again! The condo style units are new and well decorated and laid out. We got the one bedroom with sofa bed in living room and it was more than enough space for our family of 4. There must've been lots going on in Canmore the weekend we were there because it cost over 200$/night whereas a quick check now states $99/night. The extra cost was well worth it because we had a beautiful full kitchen in our suite that saved us lots in eating out! Deadman's Flats is a strange little place that appeared to consistent of only 1 street. I wouldn't call it a town but it is right off the #1 and a quick (less than 10 minute drive west to Canmore).

Room Tip: I called and offered to prepay for our stay and received 20% off the total cost!

This is our second visit to this hotel/condo. It was pretty well priced for what we receive. It's quiet and clean. The rooms are of a higher quality than most hotels in this price range. Would recommend it.

we stayed 4 days in 2 rooms suite plus den. Room still not available when arrived at 6pm due to some technical issue, then receptionist requested us to wait 20 minutes or come back after dinner promised call my cell when room is ready. No call received after finished eating, I called them again, they told me room is ready but there might be some odd smell at the room after cleaning and if we can't stand for it , we need to split 2 individual room instead. Finally, we took the room with bit smelly as it was ready 8:30pm. Entering the room, the first impression was spacious, but the forks, tea pot and coffee pot were calcified, frying pans were old and scratches, wifi was so slow sometimes can't even make it working, no ethernet cable available, pull-out sofa bed created sharp squeaking sound while sleep, sound proofing is bad at night especially sleeping at the 2nd level of bunk bed, shower tap came off the wall, hot water is inconsistent, sink doesn't drain smooth.

The property is clean and nicely furnished. Would definitely stay again.
A short drive to restaurants in Canmore.
Get your National Park pass at the Husky gas station near the property-that way you can avoid waiting in line at the gates.

Room Tip: Take a walk to the creek behind the property.
