“Terrific accommodation in a marvellous location in the White Peak District”
Reviewed August 17, 2018 for a stay in August 2018

My wife and I had a lovely stay at The Old Farrowings. We had marvellous weather, the surroundings are beautiful and so peaceful. The location was excellent, providing easy access to the likes of Ashbourne, Chatsworth House, Dove Dale and Haddon Hall.
The cottage was a good size, lovely bedroom and bathroom. Kitchen well equipped. Lounge perhaps a little small but why worry - get out into the countryside.

Thanks very much for taking the time to write a review and I'm so pleased you both had a good time exploring the area. There is so much to do in The Peak District but you seem to have seen lots in the few days you were staying. Nice to have met you both. Jane

“An Amazing Farmstay”
Reviewed June 13, 2018 for a stay in May 2018

The Old Farrowings is a perfect getaway in a well-furnished cottage with a huge bedroom. Everything was perfect and clean. On the little terrace, we could see sheep and cows grazing on the rolling slopes, hear birds chirping and catch the radiant evening sunset. We went for our little walks amidst the pasture and along the walking trails. Overall, a wonderful stay. A big thank you to Jane who is a great host, making sure that all was in order.

“Very comfortable cottage”
Reviewed April 7, 2018 for a stay in March 2018

This is our second stay at Biggin Grange , so you can see we like it :)
The cottage was very comfortable and the bedroom palatial!
Although the weather was mixed (as it was all over the UK) the Peak District is stunning and we had the novelty of waking up to snow clad hills on Bank Holiday Monday.

“Perfect getaway”
Reviewed March 13, 2018 for a stay in March 2018

Beautiful cottage in a perfect location. Jane and Richard and great hosts and were there to welcome us when we arrived, the views are beautiful and I can't think of a better place to spend some down time. The local pub in Biggin serves good food, the village of Hartington is only a couple of miles away and has shops, pubs and a post office - so you'll never be far from anything you need. The cottage itself was warm and cosy, with much more space than I expected. Very comfortable in every sense, and with loads of helpful information on nearby attractions, activities and local amenities. There were even jigsaws and board games to keep us occupied! The cottage is also on a working farm so you'll get used to seeing curious sheep about the place :)

Thanks very much for the lovely review and so pleased you enjoyed your time in The Peak District. I'm glad you discovered The Waterloo Inn in the village and we are lucky to have that within walking distance. Do come and see us - I'm sure my 3 sheep would love to see you again!

Thanks very much for the great review. So pleased you enjoyed my rare-breed sheep - they are super friendly aren't they?! You needed the wood-burning stove for the weekend you were here, as the temperature certainly dropped!

“Lovely Weekend in beautiful surroundings”
Reviewed October 9, 2017 for a stay in October 2017

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at The Old Farrowings. The cottage was beautiful and equipped perfectly for our needs. It was such a cosy and quaint little cottage. The bedroom is enormous! We didn't need to make use of the the log fire as the heating kept us warm enough. I imagine on a winters evening however, the log fire would have been amazing. The scenery was stunning! Beautiful views as far as the eye could see. And our little sheepy neighbours were very friendly too.

The weather was a tad damp on our 2nd day but we didn't let that stop us from paying a visit into the neighbouring village of Hartington where we took the opportunity to visit the Cheese Shop and purchase some of the local cheeses. We also warmed ourselves up with a delicious Hot Chocolate from one of the tea rooms.

Our host, Jane was excellent. She popped by to say hello and welcome us on our arrival. Nothing was too much trouble. The homemade chocolate brownies were delicious.

We cannot wait to visit here again in the future! We had a lovely relaxing weekend. Thank-you
