just around the corner from the main drag of Queen Street is what might appear to most as a fish bait shack. Buit isn't. Its a great place for tapas and mains dining in a lovely location when the sun is out and its not too cold. The food it great , the selections of wine wide and good beer on offer. Had an enjoyable meal with a mate I hadn't seen for years. A great convivial meal

A special Sunday lunch with a visiting overseas family member was ruined by ridiculously badly over salted food (anything that had batter on it), over cooked steak and RAW chicken being served to our 2 year old! The waitress was lovely and tried her best to work through the kitchen issues but we were not impressed when what appeared to be the owner asked if we enjoyed our meal and was blatantly told about the extremely dangerous raw chicken and badly cooked meat and he didn't seem to care two hoots... was just glad we paid the bill! Would really need to return to know that this was a once off as would currently NEVER recommend to anyone!

My wife and I joined with a local Kiwi friend here for our last dinner in New Zealand and to wrap up a nearly seven week journey through the South Pacific! It was a fitting location as it was one of the first places we saw from the Ocean Princess when we arrived in the harbour a month earlier. We are also boaters and we were very comfortable with the marina setting!

We had a reservation for waterside and got a good table right there! Great views while enjoying great food made the time pass quickly. The ladies enjoyed a daily fish special and I had an excellent shrimp dish. Great presentation! We shared an excellent local wine. Total tab came to almost NZ$200.

Afterwards, we walked down the nearby Jellicoe Street and the Wynyard Crossing. Yachts, yachts and even more yachts; no wonder Auckland is called the City of Sails! And so many restaurants!

Something to plan on for our return to New Zealand!

We tripped down to Westhaven on a wet Saturday morning. We had tried before to have breakfast at the Billfish, but it had always been busy and we had not been able to get a table. This day we were in luck - probably due to the rain, which didn't last long! The Smoked Fish Hot Pot was devine! A must to have if you come here. My husband had his usual poached eggs, which were cooked to perfection. The coffee was excellent. We sat outside under the umbrellas and managed to avoid the rain, with yachts and boats parked close by the location is really special and calming. The staff were great and attentive, they seemed to anticipate our needs - which were few. I would really recommend this cafe, especially for a weekend breakfast. We certainly will be returning. A good walk around Westhaven afterwards warrants the special breakfast!

We had dinner at Bill Fish . An outside table on a beautiful summers evening . The location is great on the edge of marina. The service was very good . I had Cajun fish (Hapuka) which I had enjoyed on a previous visit and again it was excellent . My wife had the "Sizzling Prawns " These were rubbery and very bland tasting - a real dissapointment . The blackberry and marscopone torte was good and the coffee excellent . We will return as it is a great spot but will stick to ordering fish as a main course. This is also a very pleasant location for lunch
