I have dined at the Wintergardens twice in the last week.
The first time was a high tea with five other people. The selection of food on the high tea was very traditional and really fresh and tasty and the range of teas on offer was really good. Service provided by the staff was extremely attentive - to the point of being a bit annoying as we all wanted to have a good chat and catch up but I won't hold that against them.
The second visit was a corporate Christmas party for 26 people. We selected a three course set menu which provided a good selection for even the pickiest eaters. The quality of food and cooking was really quite good considering they were cooking for a group of that size. Unfortunately a couple of people had to send back the medium rare lamb main they thought it so rare they were discribing it as baaahing! The chef quickly rectified this though. Service was good in most ways but the waiting staff were a little forgetful in topping up drinks from the bottles of wine and water on the table - again to be expected somewhat with a large function and a busy restaurant on a sunny summers day. My only real gripe was the price of the wine... be careful what you chose, prices were a lot higher than what similar standard restaraunts charge.
All in all a lovely building in a lovely location with a good standard of food and service. I'd definately recommend it and I'll surely be going back.
