Nestled to the side of Marthas fabric store in Newmarket this was our girls weekend must get to each morning. The food is fresh, delectable and well priced. We loved the food and relaxed atmosphere so much we kept going back and then all bought cookbooks before we headed home on the final day.

The service was a little slow but they are really busy (due to the food no doubt) so it's worth the wait. I had a fig and walnut slice which tasted more of icing than any other flavour but apart from that one item everything else we ate was fabulous. Go here if you are in Auckland and hungry.

Love it.

We were in Devonport for the morning, looked up Trip Advisor for good coffee places, noticed Little & Friday in nearby Belmont. Heard about them from great newspaper cafe reviews and seen their cookbook in shops. Well worth the visit - down a residential street, great atmosphere, great seating, great coffee and the best home-made sausage roll my husband says he's ever had!

When you see two policemen walking out with a Doughnut you know you have found the right place for an exceptional but naughty treat (leave your diet at the door). Tucked away inside Martha's fabric shop in the commercial area of Newmarket, Auckland it is easy to miss. Lots of unique tempting treats that you just wont find in other cafes including yammy frittatas. Patrons sit around two large tables with lots of reading materials and flasks of water. The original shop is tucked away in Belmont on the North Shore but thankfully they have come to town. Hard not to strike up a conversation with the person next to you and compare selections. Dainty plates and spoons and a relaxing atmosphere. Word is spreading fast as a queue formed mid morning as we were about to leave. The seating area is intimate but small so don't expect quick service and a seat at peak times. The coffee will not disappoint either.

At Little and Friday they make the most delicious cakes. Do not go here if you are on a diet. Famous cream doughnuts, chocolate caramel slice like no-one else makes, cone-shaped lamingtons, great savory tarts too. Yum.

We had heard a lot about this cafe and the hype was all correct, all the food was amazing. It was really hard to decide on what to have and the coffee/atmosphere/service was all excellent.
