Last night six of us returned to the Abbey for dinner. Anne-Marie greeted us like old friends and ensured we had a nice wine to drink at the bar. Angela, our waitress enthusiastically and professionally looked after us at our table, remembering that we always order sparkling water. The kitchen did well with two diners' allergies being seamlessly integrated into their menu choices. The gravlax starter was delicate and yum, the duck main was succulent and tasty. We will continue to return.

As The Abbey is handy to work a group of 6 of us went for a pre-Christmas lunch. The location is a bit odd - busy road with car yards next door and opposite - and the decor has the look of a sports pub. The service was friendly, although we weren't told of the Xmas Special lunch, which several would have had if they had known. However the food is worth going for - handmade ravioli, the very best spicy squid (a change from salt & pepper), great fresh salads, melt in your mouth pork belly. The food takes a little longer than some places, but this is due to everything being made to order and it is well worth the wait.
Great for a group lunch or dinner, maybe not so good for a romantic evening as lacks ambiance, outlook etc.

Based out in Greenlane this is my local restaurant. Ever since it has opened I have found it to be exceptionally good and definitely as good, if not better, than a lot of restaurants in town. It is a Bar and a Restaurant. The Restaurant is decorated tastefully and feels like being in a Library (a wine library in particular). The food is great. I have been through most of the menu and can recommend the Fish, Venison, Pasta, Steak and the Duck. The Duck is so good that we usually go for that every time. Whenever my partner decides to try something else as good as it is he always wishes he'd had the Duck. Do be prepared to wait though - they cook from fresh. A recommendation to one of my friends was - go with someone you like and want to talk to, you won't notice the 20 minutes and your food will be great. The wine menu is OK and they have other wines available - just ask. Staff are very friendly and helpful but not OTT.

We have been to the Abbey for lunch and more recently dinner and would recommend as a place for dinner as they only appear to have the one menu. The staff are helpful, friendly and courteous, often checking that things are okay and even letting us know how long the food will be. The food itself is excellent and we had a lovely evening.

Went here for a work team dinner and found the staff really friendly, very jovial and looked after us well. The food was very good, tasty and just the right serving sizes for the boys. Was extremely surprised to see sweet breads on the menu which were absolutely divine. Pork Belly in entrees was the favourite for the night and roasted duck for the main courses won out there. Good selection of wine/beer and very pleasant surroundings. Just make sure you try the parking over the road as the side street can be busy earlier in the night. Well done and 6 of us all thoroughly enjoyed it.
