We enjoyed a wonderful Mothers Day occasion at the Peace and Plenty Inn for High Tea. The tables were beautifully presented traditionally with exquisite china and silverware - we took lots of photos! The decadent food tasted home made but with a touch of class and was very generous in servings. We all agreed the service was attentive and friendly and that we would definitely return again. It was lovely to meet the owner Judy who made a point of introducing herself to each table. We have been to quite a few high teas in Auckland and this one was most certainly the best.

My Mum and I visited the Peace and Plenty Inn for a Mother's Day celebration.
The villa itself is beautiful and very well kept, and the food served was delightful. My Mum is still raving about the scones we were served! You feel right at home at the Inn, almost like you're at your grandmother's (very grand) house. Judy, the host, was so gracious and welcoming throughout our visit. She even gave us her secret scone recipe! We can't wait to try it at home. Thanks again, Judy, we will be back in no time!

High tea at the Peace and Plenty. Wow - just wow! Everything about this place is lovely - Judy the owner, Cooper the resident chocolate spaniel, the high tea, the house - just everything.
The attention to detail is fabulous. We cannot say enough about how much we loved our experience of Peace and Plenty. We will be back and we shall be letting everyone know about this wonderful gem in lovely Devonport. Did I mention how gorgeous Cooper is?!? :-)

This was a beautifully kept Victorian Villa, it has been restored exceptionally well. The Villa is spotless and all rooms are well furnished. The food was great and the hostess was lovely as were the staff. It is very well situated for visiting Devonport and also Auckland.........10mins across on the ferry. You really have the best of both world here, peace and quiet of "village life" and the hustle and bustle of city life. Well worth staying in.

We stayed for one night in February. Judy was welcoming and helpful. The location is great only a 5 minute brisk walk to the ferry, and with lots of shops and restaurants near by. The house is furnished to fit the age of the property (18 cushions in our room - a record?). The downside is on some practicalities like no bedside table. Our bathroom was in a sort of conservatory, with little space for our toiletries and the lavatory cistern took about 15 minutes to re-fill so we had to arrange with each other about using the loo.
So much to recommend it and it compares very well with most B&Bs in the UK.

We were so lucky to find Peace and Plenty, its just one of the most wonderful places we have ever stayed. Friendly, comfortable and very well located for local eating places and access to Auckland by the ferry. We had a delightful double room upstairs at the back with a pretty little deck. Beautifully decorated room, wonderful bed and spacious enough to relax and enjoy tea or a drink in the room. All the rooms looked really pretty and comfortable, but we preferred upstairs for the view. Perfect for a relaxing getaway or break from driving and exploring NZ. Our best tip would be to stay for more one night! We booked in for one night last minute (having walked out of the place we had booked in advance as it was so disappointing) and changed our plans so we could enjoy another night. The downside was every other place we stayed in after Peace and Plenty, although perfectly OK, just couldn't match up! The breakfast room is delightful and the breakfast excellent, lots of choice. We must mention Cooper the beautiful resident spaniel; a real bonus for us as we were able to take him for a walk along the beachfront. We are big dog lovers, but don't be put off if you aren't, the owner is very careful not to let Cooper effect non dog lovers or allow him around at breakfast etc He is so well behaved and adorable I am sure even non dog lovers are converted by the time they reluctantly leave. Should we ever return to NZ it will be first stop Peace and Plenty for sure, thank you Judy!

We stayed for our last two nights in New Zealand at the Peace and Plenty after five weeks in NZ. One the best B and Bs in our stay. Judy was very welcoming and helpful and we were very pleased with our room and large bathroom. However this is an old house and the room sizes and the bathroom sizes understandably vary significantly - you may want to check on booking. Breakfasts were excellent. Car parking is limited and time restricted outside during the daytime. The location is excellent for the ferry across to Auckland and there are good places to eat on the doorstep. Much better than staying in Auckland !
