“It's just a hill.....”

....but the views are amazing. 360 degree views of the harbour and Gulf. North Head is actually more fun as it has tunnels and old cannons and a waterside path.

“Great Views of Auckland's Skyline”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

Found in the center of Devonport, Mount Victoria can be climbed in about 20 minutes on a very steep grass trail or along the road in 35 mins. There's a parking lot on top as well as some great views of Auckland's skyline. On the top, there's a canon, some air vents painted as mushrooms, and park benches.

“Astounding view of Auckland inner and outer harbour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2013

An amazing view from the top, with the quirky 'mushrooms' and some breathtaking scenery. Go on a warm day and let the kids slide down the hill on cardboard - a Devonport tradition.

“A great place to see Auckland and the Shore from”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

This reserve has easy access from the city by ferry to Devonport and from the summit you get a great view of the gulf, the city, and the north shore - it's well worth the visit, and the climb, which can be a bit steep in parts.

“Great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

We decided to walk up to the Mount Victoria Reserve from the centre of Devonport. The distance it not very far, but - on a very hot day with temperatures around 30C - it can be a bit strenuous. However, the climb was well worth it. We had fabulous views across Devonport, Auckland and beyond. It was fabulous.
