“Excellent service all round”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

We are all very grateful for your care, concern and sensitivity, especially Jo, for making the wake for Doreen as special a day as it could have been. The food and facilities were all excellent and to have the restaurant area solely for ourselves was of great benefit. We could not have asked you to do more. We totally recommend Loughton Golf Club for your event. Norman, Debbie, Steve, Roland and all the family.

“Lovely food, staff great, very good value!”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

We were told to try this restaurant by a few people and eventually had Lunch there a couple of months back after the men played golf and the wives and friends joined at the restaurant to eat. Outside needs attention and bar is mediocre but staff were extremely welcoming and the restaurant was pleasantly decorated and inviting. There were 10 of us that day, and many different dishes were ordered, plus lots of drink! Everyone raved about the food, the owner was friendly and hospitable, we were offered an after dinner drink on the house and the total bill for our boozy lunch was £300. Very good value. We have been back 3 times since with different company and the outcome has been the same, everyone we've taken has been very impressed. Tonight my husband and I dined alone, and following a chat with co-owner Tony, he very kindly dropped us home on his way out - that's service for you! Well done, fully recommended, keep up the good work.

“Pan for the course!”
Reviewed November 9, 2012

I have played at Loughton Golf Club over the past few years, tucked away in Clays Lane in Loughton Essex. Recently taken over and refurbished by Tony and John, our hosts, who have innovated and enhanced by adding the Pan Asian restaurant to the newly decorated barn buildings, some call “sheds”

The ambiance there is village friendly, calm and quiet. You can chat with anyone in the clubhouse and feel at home. The cuisine is to die for with a selection of Indian, Thai and Asian delights. You may have difficulty choosing from their menu due to their diversity and deliciousness described therein.

The diners seem to be people who know what they are eating and why they are there. This aint somewhere you can fall into on the high street.

Please don’t expect things to come in a hurry, the food is cooked fresh to order, from scratch, so prepare for a leisurely dining experience, attentive service and excellent food.
If you want to gobble fast food go somewhere else! We and four friends met at 8.00 and left at 11.00. That is a night out

Cost of the meal: You get what you pay for. Good food comes at a bit higher cost. I would say 4 star cost and five star eating, so don’t expect a cheap night out, but considering the quality of food it was good value for money.

Go on, treat yourself!
I bet you’ll go back. I will; QUALITY!
Ohh yes, they are getting a deservedly good reputation now, it may be better to book than just turn up.

“Full marks on all counts.”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

My wife and I and another couple visited here yesterday and can honestly say that this restaurant is on a par with all of the other better Indian/Bengali/Asian restaurants in and around the Loughton and Theydon Bois areas. As several other reviewers say the outside of these premises is not remotely impressive and reminded me of Gillwell Park and Baden Powell.
However on entering the restaurant area we were all quite impressed and surprised with the elegance of the place. All of the staff were very attentive and informative when questioned about the dishes available. All four of us diners had different starters and main courses and all agreed the food was excellent and the size of each dish was generous. We received a bill of £104 which considering it included eight different alcholic drinks was most reasonable.Drinks on the house were welcomed and for sure we will all be returning in the not too distant future. My wife and I are regulars to Brick Lane and other nearby Bengali and Pakistani restaurants and will now happily travel the five miles to Loughton as opposed to the fifteen arduous miles to London E.1.
Loads of parking area with not a single yellow line or threatening sign post to be seen.
I cannot offer any criticism whatsoever.

“Amazing Indian Cuisine and lovely staff”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

We have had several recommendations to try the LCG Pan Asian Restaurant so decided to take the kids on Saturday evening. We booked for 6pm.

The outside looks like a shed, but the restaurant itself is lovely. Small, but light and airy and the tables looked beautiful.

Immediately the staff were very friendly, and we liked the menu. The kids all had Chicken Tikka, and were mightily impressed by the presentation. My husband had the sea bass and I had Chicken Tikka Massala.

All the dishes were exquisite. You think you know Indian food, and especially when you choose something as obvious as Chicken Tikka Massala, but the LCG took it to a whole new level. It really was amazing, and my eldest daughter was pushing the last piece of chicken around her plate for a while as she “didn’t want the meal to end”!! Even the Naan Bread was a cut above the norm!

The owner popped over to say hello, which was lovely. We were very impressed by the whole experience and will definitely be returning with parents and friends.
