Did an afternoon tour, great service & very informative tour guide. Had lunch there prior to tour, we sampled croc kebabs & a croc burger, both were very tasty. Lots of crocs to see & watch feed.

The 1 hour plus tour was very good. The tour leader (John) was very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions. While a commercial croc farm, it is not a neat place, but it delivers if you want to see big crocs being fed up close. The photo op with a 1yo croc was excellent.

It's interactive, we got to hold a baby croc, as did all visitors.
Highly recommended!

I visited the Koorana Crocodile Farm in early July 2011 on the 1pm tour.

The tour began with a presentation by the guide about crocodiles in general and specifically at the farm. After the 20 introduction, we were shown a 10 minute DVD showing how the crocodiles are captured in the wild when intruding into places people are located. Very interesting to know that three crocs were captured from the local river in Rockhampton per resident demand, while there are more than 50 known to inhabit the same river.... The ones removed were deemed dangerous because they lost their fear of humans.

Then there was a viewing of about 6 enclosures with crocodiles.... the first two had young females and males separated... about 18-20 per enclosure. The guide showed us the nests where the eggs are laid. In the male enclosure, he fed some of them fresh meat, and the crocs did lunge for the lunch snacks. The crocs were not overly active due to the very cold temperatures at night.

Then the guide told us about several croc 'couples' in separate pens. All pens had dry grassy areas, shade and pools for the crocs to 'hang out' in.... to adjust their temperature. There were some excellent opportunities to see the power of these animals during the presentation.

Then the guide, Jason, brought out a 3 year old male croc for us to hold and touch. The mouth was closed with a bit of surgical tape, so it could not hurt us.
Great fun and there were several families with children enjoyed the show. Highly recommended if you would like to see salties!
