Description: Welcome to The White Swan, Wighill. We are ideally located between York, Wetherby, Tadcaster and Leeds, as well as being close to the A64 & A1, both of which are just 4 miles away. Making us an ideal spot for a break in your journey, whether you are just visiting or passing through. We only close on a monday, excluding bank holidays when we fire up our hand built clay oven for the best pizzas around! Food is served every day 12 - 3 and 5 - 9:30.(12 -5 Sun) We have a seasonal menu which changes frequently to use whatever is good and in season. We love food, we love the countryside and we love our job. Hopefully all this will reflect in your dining experience and I'm sure it will as we have seen many returning customers in the few short months we have been open. We have an extensive beer garden and utilise this space frequently for events and can be booked for wedding receptions. For more details please visit our Facebook page or twitter or website.

We ate at The White Swan at the weekend with friends - it was their choice and it turned out to be a really good one. The menu isn't huge but it all sounded delicious and made choosing difficult. I had Squid with home-made Chilli Jam as a starter (delicious), Haddock as a main (the batter was lush) and coffee with home-made truffles to finish. The Mussels, Prawn Cocktail, (starters), Risotto, home-made burger and the belly pork (mains) and the amazing Panna Cotta for dessert which the others chose were equally delicious. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented. The final bill for four people, including our drinks, was just over £90. I really need to make a mention about the service - the staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient and well worth the tip we left. We'll definetly be visiting again.

An absolute please to eat at this village pub. All the food is skilfully prepared and cooked and the owners and staff deserve the highest praise.

I am trying to think of a negative with the whole experience but simply can't - thats how good it is! Just go and experience the food, the drink and the atmosphere - you will not be disappointed with your choice!

We visited the White Swan for a drink whilst cycling around the local lanes. very impressed so much so that we came back the following day for lunch. What a ploughman's !!!!! Cheese , fresh salad, home made preserves, beautiful ham and a couple of slices of georgeous beef.
The service and care were of the highest standard. Well done to an enthusiastic young couple who have set a very high standard.

We found the food fantastic in taste but it seemed like half portions at double price. The kids were really unimpressed with the lack of kids menu as were we with the loss of kids eat free.
We found the atmosphere to be lacking compared to how it was pre Christmas.
All said and done we'll try it again in the sunshine as the kids and us really enjoyed playing on the lawn at the side and have good food at fair price.

After watching the Saturday Kitchen chefs cook an amazing burger on a brioche bun with home made chunky chips we were delighted to find this was on the evening menu at this lovely friendly pub. Excellent value for money and truly delicious, we went home stuffed!
