Fell over this little gem today (4 June 2013). Had lunch outside the front of the pub - wow what a lunch. Served from a new menu that day on a wooden platter was the ploughmans and forresters salads. Absolutely beautiful and the cheesboard a new one on me was the lavender cheese - it was superb. The staff here are definitely friendly and could not be more helpful. The food is second to none and the menu is excellent and well priced. I would recommend this place any time and as for the beer - GO FOR THE HORSE its brills

Just returned from another lovely visit to this great pub. Food superb. Bedroom comfortable with plenty of space to lounge about. Staff attentive without being intrusive. Welcoming atmosphere, so much so, we joined in with the locals on their quiz night. Sorry, we won't be there to set the next one. A fabulous 2 days celebrating a birthday and a wedding anniversary. Looking forward to another trip closer to Christmas. One final mention 'breakfast was delicious'.

Room Tip: Have stayed in most of the rooms - all lovely.

Just returned from two nights at the Forrester's. A well appointed en suite room with fluffy white towels and good quality toiletries provided. This is a family run establishment and Nigel and his staff really do go the extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay. Dinner on both evenings was cooked to perfection and portions are generous. The Forrester's breakfast is also excellent -perfectly cooked local produce and generous portions. The village is an absolute gem and the locals are as welcoming as the staff. This wasn't our first visit to the Forrester's and it certainly won't be our last.

The Forresters Arms is situated in the village of Kilburn, near Thirsk, Yorkshire. The village is famous for the Mouseman furniture made by Robert Thompson Craftsmen. The family run hotel is an excellent venue either for a quiet break or as a base for touring. The bedrooms are well appointed. The selection of meals is first class. A must if you are visiting Yorkshire.

Stayed at the Forresters last night. Our room was a good size with a decent sized bathroom, lovely to see nice toiletries provided and soft white towels. Staff helpful and pleasant. Situated in a lovely village and so peaceful after a days shopping in York. Food good and value for money. Would definately stay again.

We stayed here on our way back home from a trip to Scotland. Good family room with a separate room off ours for our daughter. Dinner in the evening was fine, but the real highlight was breakfast, which was excellent. Superb poached eggs, local sausages, perfectly cooked all round. The village is very pretty.

On our way home from a walk in the North York Moors we wanted some Sunday Lunch and a drink. We'd heard good things about this place and weren't dissapointed at all.

The venue has a lovely atmosphere and is clearly well frequented by locals, we ordered some ale and two Sunday lunches totalling £22.05 which for us is a bargain. The portions were generous and delicious and we'll certainly go back again. The staff were friendly, efficient and very welcoming.
