We had a very relaxing, amazing 4 night stay at Harmony House. Paul and Hilary are very genuine, lovely people who went out of there way to make our stay as stress free and as enjoyable as possible. The room was lovely, Hilary had thought of everything. It was great to come back from a long day sight seeing to one of Hilarys beautiful evening meals. They both so much deserve the excellent reviews. Well done, you must both be very proud. Will definitely stay at Harmony House again, why would we choose anywhere else!

My husband and I had planned a short break away to York and wanted to stay just outside the City itself. One of my searches for B&B was Harmony House. After reading excellent reviews we booked a 3 night stay in the wonderful King room en suite over looking the green.

The owners Paul and Hilary made our stay most enjoyable and nothing was to much trouble. We had a wonderful home made supper the first evening and the breakfasts had everything you could ask for and more.

We would definitely stay at Harmony House again without hesitation and would recommend to everyone.

Room Tip: Room over looking the green

My wife and I stayed at Harmony House recently for three nights - we booked at the last minute, but what a find! From the moment we arrived we were given a warm welcome - truly a 'home from home'. Our hosts were very friendly and did all they could to make our stay so enjoyable.

As part of our three night deal, we had a two-course meal included for the first night, which was delicious and there was ample choice to cover all tastes. The breakfast each morning was also great and set us up for the day.

Our room was in the king en suite - again, this was excellent and a very comfortable and a relaxing space to be in.

The house is in such a wonderful country village setting, it really is a perfect place to unwind, regardless of the reason for your stay. It's a good base - very easy to get into York and the surrounding area by car.

We cannot recommend Harmony House enough - it is by far the best place we have stayed on a short break in the UK.

We booked this B&B as a late treat to visit York for a few days so were not sure what we would get. Harmony house and Paul and Hillary more than the 5 stars I have given it. A beautiful room, fantastic bathroom and gorgeous peaceful views, but non of these are the best part of this B&B. The hosts make you feel at home as soon as you get there and it seems like nothing would be too much trouble but to be honest we didn't need to ask for anything as everything was already thought of. At the end of a busy day being a 'tourist' in York to come 'home' to a fabulous three course meal was superb. Hillary's cooking was the perfect balance of restaurant quality with a home cooked feel. We will be back as soon as possible.

Room Tip: If it is available have the Tulip Room.

We had planned a visit to the national railway museum to see the 'Great Gathering' not liking city centre B&B's I looked for something out of the way but still close enough for local attractions. Harmony House came up in my search, and upon ready a few reviews it was duly booked for the night.

We arrived around tea time and were soon treated to a wonderful afternoon tea and cakes :-)

Wanting to leave early Sunday morning we wanted to skip breakfast as we didn't want to have Paul and Hilary get up especially early so we could have breakfast, so arranged to have toast and cereal. This was all fine with us, but Hilary had other ideas, Hilary insisted that they would get up and ensure we got a full breakfast knowing what we had planned for the day. I want to give a big thank you to them for their hospitality as it was second to none. Breakfast by the way was fantastic, our room was spotless and comfy.

If you do stay here and fancy some great pub food, we also recommend the Blacksmiths Arms in nearby Naburn.

Book with the confidence that you will enjoy your stay :-)

Thank you very much Stephen - you are welcome. I couldn't let you go away for the day without a good hearty Yorkshire breakfast it just wouldn't be right. We visited the trains today ourselves and they looked impressive. Hope to see you again one day.

We have stayed here before and without fail have never been disappointed. The welcome tea & scones was just what we needed after a tiring journey. The location is peaceful, and there are good restaurants nearby. The room was extremely clean and very comfortable, and furnished to a high quality. The breakfast was also excellent, made with really high quality ingredients. The hosts, Hilary and Paul, are very friendly - nothing seems to be too much trouble. An outstanding establishment.
