Lovely little place this alongside the beautiful Abbazia di Fossanova. Spent a lovely couple of hours in the company of friends and all our kids under the trees in their delightful garden. The food too was fabulous, both the first courses and the seconds, as was the wine. A memorable day, they even provided a gluten-free plate of pasta for our little 'un. Thanks a lot.

Myself, my boyfriend and his family visited this restaurant a few times during the summer. The restaurant is located in the grounds of the beautiful Abbey of Fossanova and the setting is spectacular. We were greeted straight away by a friendly waiter who seated us outside, sheltered under some trees, with a view of the church. It is particularly nice to go in the evening time as the church is lit up and the atmosphere is lively.
The food was amazing. The menu offers the traditional food of the area, but done with a modern edge. The anitpasti is varied and you can definately tell it is made with the very best produce of the region. I had a delicious plate of ravioli for primi, stuffed with potato and mint in a goat ragu, followed by a roasted rooster with herb potatoes for secondi. My boyfriend particulary enjoyed his secondi which was a perfectly cooket fillet of buffalo. It all arrived at a casual pace and was all beautifully plated with care.
Even though we were absolutely full of food we had to try some dessert, and it was worth it! I have to recommend the absolutely delicious buffalo ricotta and fruit coulis. It's something special.
Overall the service was brilliant, great advice on wines of the area, the food was delicious and the bill was very reasonable. what more could you ask for? That's why we went back again and again!

The Abbey of Fossanova is very well known in Italy but may be unfamilar to visitors from abroad.

The stunning 13th century cathedral is well worth a visit in its own right. The monastery no longer functions as a religious congregation, but forms part of the community of Priverno.

S ome of the monastery buildings have been converted to other purposes -a concert hall, museum, a small archade of shops, hotel (not open currently), tourist accomodatioin and bar. The environs of the Abbey are pedestrianised and it is pleasant to stroll around and visit the Abbey buildings

The restaurant is located in the old bake house of the former monastry and retains much of the original character of the builiding. In winter there is a welcoming fire in the huge fireplace. In summer it is magical to sit out under the trees with the beautiful cathedral as a backdrop.

We visit this area frequently and have eaten in this restaurant many times. The restaurant is family run and the chef concentrates on using great local incredients such as mozarella, flaversome vegetables grown on the Pontine, good local cheeses and main dishes include buffaloe and goat as well a chicken etc.

The cooking style is somewhat more sophisticated than is found in many of the local restaurants in the area. Old favourites, but with a twist It should also be said that the
dessertsare absolutely delicious and all home made. The service is efficient and warm.

We strongly recommend this restaurnant on the grounds of quality of food, ambience, and welcome. Its picturesque setting is an added bonus
