Quick check in, nice big rooms, lovely hot water in shower, location great for Mada'in Saleh, buffet meals are excellent ... loved everything about this hotel. I didn't get to try the swimming pool as it was too cold but it looked inviting.

I agree with all the things already mentioned but want to emphasize the need to have your own vehicle or be part of a tour. This is a fun and quaint place with consistently good food and service. If you are traveling independently, the hotel will also get you the permission letter needed to visit Madain Saleh. Try to get rooms on the left wing as the traffic noise on the right side kept my friend awake.

I remember there was no other hotel in Al-Ula, so it's without any alternative. If you intend to stay at this hotel, you'd better go by own car - as it's located on the very outskirts. Please note, that it's too far and maybe dangerous (street traffic, no walkway) for a walk to the town and there is no taxi service available at all in Al-Ula!
If you are interested in railway history, you are at the right place: You'll find in Al-Ula the remains of a railway building, some rusty rails and material of train cars. In Madain Saleh you can visit a very nice and new museum about the history of the hedjaz railway. They have a complete train outside and another inside. It is worthwile seeing!
The whole area around Al-Ula und Madain Saleh is breathtaking indeed. There are so much picturesque remains of the Nabataeans, hugh tomb portals as well as bizarre rock formations.
It is absoltuely one-of-a-kind.
The hotel staff was very friendly, the room was not very large, but clean and in a proper condition. The internal garden is nice and invites for an atmospheric stay in the evening, over some non-alcoholic beers. I looked for, but did not find the swimming pool. Breakfast has been good and was served in a clean and large room by an attentative waiter. Very good service.
I was pleased with the stay at this hotel and delighted about the sights.

We reserved a triple room on the web site, which turned out to be a double room with a squeezed in (additional) bed. When we tried to ask the guy at the reception, he could not understand us, because he did not speak English. The head cleaning person told us that the hotel does not have any triple rooms, all rooms are the same. Just like the web site says: "Arac Al-Ula Hotel has 42 twin-bed guestrooms and 4 double-bed suites". They misinform and mislead people with their triple room offer. When we called the manager, he was not helpful and at the end of our conversation, he was simply rude and left us saying he did not want to waste his time on us. The room did not have mini bar, no coffee/tea maker, no phone in the bathroom and no hairdryer as they claim on the web site each room should have. The bathtub was not clean to say the least. I have no idea how this hotel got its 3 stars!..

Room is spacey and clean, Great Breakfast
sandstone scenic background, with a nice garden with Palm trees.

Nothing to much trouble for the staff here. We asked our Indonesian waiter (Rio) if we could have Nasi Goreng for lunch and we got it! All the food on the menu was good and available, something not common in out of the way hotels. Our room was clean and well equipped, if a bit dark, and everything was reasonable value.
The manager had organised our permits for Madein Saleh in advance and arranged a very knowledgable and freindly guide.
The only negative was maintenance.... the swimming pool was very dirty, thick algae growing on the walls. The gardens overgrown etc.
Put the maintanance in order and this 3* hotel would warrant a 5* review.

We spent two nights here with some friends and found the hotel and courtyard to be very nice. Unfortunately, the pool was closed at the time. The rooms were clean and tidy with a small sitting area in front. The breakfast and dinner were buffet style and served fairly quickly. The location is great for getting to the local sites and it's very easy to find ( although a little further from Al Ula than it says on Google maps!). I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Would ask for rooms not along the highway
