We eat fish and seafood several times a week, so it is not surprising that when we are in Lanzarote, fresh fish is our first choice. We went to El Golf with a Spanish friend to eat fish for lunch. Restaurante El Golfo is the restaurant in this village he prefers, that is when it is quiet and not swamped by a coach party. At 2 pm on a Friday afternoon, at the end of October, it wasn`t too busy.
We ordered mussels, followed by a platter of grilled fish of the day with Canarian potatoes. All perfectly cooked –delicious! Not many restaurants with so fresh fish.

coming from the stark landscape of the volcanos you go over a hill and the views are amazing white washed houses huge crashing turquoise waves. A short walk up a hill to see the beautiful green lagoon. the best views on the island

El Golfo is well worth a visit, not just for its Green lagoon with its dramatic cliff formations and Atlantic beach of black rock. The seafood in here is fresh in the true sense, and well worth a try with Mojo sauce - green for garlic fans & red for chilli. Also had local cheese as a starter which was mild & delicious. The staff made us really welcome, and at the end of the day were quite happy to serve us with an icy beer & call a taxi for us. Really memorable day made better with fine food.

Visited El Golfo to see the green lagoon and then took a wander into the village. Friendly service, liked having children around. We had tapas on the veranda for lunch. We had to ask for the tapas menu. The waiter was great and helped us with our selection. The octopus was cooked beautifully. Would recommend for a lazy lunch.
