“Another waiter who doesn't write down the order and then gets it wrong”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

I think I'm going to have to start a crusade against waiters who won't write down my order and then miss parts of it and get other parts wrong. Don't give them a tip!
We went here on Monday, mainly because sitting up on their veranda, looking over the sea and the village looked like a nice place to have lunch. It was, but the food and service didn't match the location. My potatoes were not particularly hot. My wife's cheese and mushroom omelette turned out to be ham and mushroom (because the waiter didn't remember what we had ordered). The omelette was also runny and barely cooked in the middle. My wife also ordered a side order of Canarian potatoes which didn't arrive (again because the waiter didn't remember what we had ordered). When we asked for them again he just said that 'she' (whoever she might have been) had forgotten them, but I'm sure it was really him.
We were originally heading for La Lapa next door, and we should probably have gone there.

“beautiful place”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

A beautiful little place, with good restaurants and climbing over the lava to watch the huge waves crash in and watching huge crabs was brilliant - spent a lot of time there

“A great haven to enjoy a relaxed meal...”
Reviewed December 27, 2012

We enjoyed the El Golfo restaurant, sitting upstairs on the balcony and watching the sun going down over the breakers...a restaurant with great ambience in this tucked away seaside village. Canarian potatoes and garlic bread to start, followed by Paella and washed down with a local white wine - it was all good, particularly the Italian waiter and actually good value all things considered. We'd happily come back!

“Super family run restaurant”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

Touring around Lanzarote. Found el Golfo on the west coast. Quaint old fishing village with many restaurants alongside the sea but we decided on El Golfo sitting upstairs outside with a terrific view of the breakers crashing in on the rocks. Family run with excellent food & service. I loved the grilled squid with canarian potatoes and my wife was very happy with the chicken & mushroom casserole. Cost us 23 euros including a large beer & orange juice recommended.

“interesting place”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

This is a quaint place to visit, the locals are very friendly, there is not much to do except a walk down to collect the gren Piridot stone. Which is native to this island. There are some fantastic sea viwes and great if your into photography. Well worth a visit but not for longer than a couple of hours.
