As a couple who have travelled widely, Haad Yao and The Beach Boutique Resort were an oasis for us. We had a Pool Villa, which was lovely. Private, relaxed and the pool was the perfect temperature. The beach, although black sand, was vast and had a wonderful array of shells each day. You could walk for miles.
The restuarant served great meals and wine and the staff were lovely. Everyone was very friendly- Matt has great English and this resort is run by a lovely couple Tom and Sara, who couldn't do more to help make our stay as pleasant and relaxed as possible.
This place is perfect for a relaxed couple of days, with not much to do except chill. A great place to escape the mad crowds of other Thai resorts.

We booked the resort with recommendations of trip advisor.
Price : worth it, paid 2 nights and had a night free. Free transfers to and fro airport as well.
Resort n room : clean, huge, comfortable. Housekeeping everyday. Limited villas, so the place feels a bit more exclusive. In house restaurant a little bit overpriced.
Location : absolutely nothing around the area. I advise you to keep your eyes open when you are on the way frm the airport to the hotel so you can rent a motorbike to get to Krabi town.
Activities : plenty of tours available and the staff can help to arrange transports etc etc. We had the phi phi island tour which We enjoyed. Hotel packed breakfast for us and we had lunch included in the tour. No hidden charges.
We rented a scooter for 300 bth for the whole day and followed the map to tiger cave temple and Krabi town. Pretty easy to get around but remember to ride on the left lane. If you want the hotel to get you a taxi, it costs 2000bth for 5 hours.
Service : excellent. No hidden charges at all. Check in and check out done in less den 5 minutes. Staff is very kind and patient to arrange the tours and everything according to your demands.

Loved my experience there

My partner and I were married in Phuket and decided to visit Krabi for our honeymoon. We arrived (after spending over 2 hours trying to find this hotel). The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and there are no restaurants close by. It was £12 for a taxi to Krabi town for food. The rooms were tired but were probably the best thing about our stay. The in-house restaurant had no food. The swimming pool had a greasy film on the top. The beach was dirty and covered with litter. We had booked 3 nights honeymoon package and the welcome rink was warm orange juice, no sparkling wine as advertised and there were no honeymoon decorations. We were so disappointed after staying in such a lovely hotel in Phuket this was terrible, The only plus point was that the Internet room had free internet (very slow and annoying) but this gave us the chance to find another hotel to stay in. We cancelled the rest of our stay and moved to the Orchid Resort in Ao Nang. The Beach Boutique tried to charge us twice for a taxi too. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in in Thailand and I have been to lots.
