“Sobering experience”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

It is difficult to rank a war cemetary, but as far as location and how beautifully it was maintained it was immaculate. Reading the tomb stones was quite sobering as most of the plots were Royal Australian air force and army lads who were only in their early 20's.

“Historical site - lest we forget”
Reviewed March 12, 2013

About a 90 minute drive from Darwin on good roads. Not much in between.
Well maintained lawn cemetery with both civilian and military tributes to those killed during WWII - from Australia, UK and Canada (USA personnel were repatriated). Now maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves - it is a place of peace and reflection. Well worth your while to wander through the grounds. On the way out, go have a burger at the Inn near the BP roadhouse.

“Very Well Maintained”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Adelaide River is a pleasant stop off for lunch, or just a break from driving. Whilst there make sure of a visit to the War Cemetary. It is very well maintained and brings some reality to how the war impacted Darwin.

“Well kept, interesting cemetry”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

I don't normally go to cemeteries, but you get a real feel of the history of Darwin in the war, and the tragedy of the deaths of so many young people. It's well maintained and worth a look
