This is a nice pub which we used to frequent pre baby however since having had a baby, we've not felt at all welcome. This pub is more of a couples sort of place which is great if you want to have a nice quiet meal over few glasses of wine. The food is average which is incredibly pricey for such a mediocre pub- you could go to a Reigate restaurant for the same price but not the same quality (The Red Lion is of lesser quality). The pub is very unfriendly to those with children so if you have children, The White Hart down the road is much more accommodating to families with children. The pub staff are not friendly, nor do they use their discretion for any favours for those with children. With child? Don't go there!

This restaurant/pub on the A25 is worth a visit. The food is very well prepared (vegetables cooked but not soggy, for example) and interesting items unusual for pub, for example, haddock on a bed of creamed potatoes with rocket in a chive and cheese sauce, as well as usual staples like roasts, fish in batter and steaks. Service - even at a peak Sunday lunch time - was prompt, and beverages ordered from the bar were brought to your table.

I stopped here for lunch with a friend while put walking in the area. The pub seemed a popular venue for food and was fairly busy. We both had burgers which were good.

We happened upon the Red Lion as we were escaping a horrible backup on the M25. It was somewhat busy, but we were seated immediately. The staff were very friendly -- as well as the other patrons -- and the food was excellent: I had the felafel burger and my husband had the lamb burger. We will go back when we're in that area again.
