“Ride then Relax”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

I took my mum out to Finca Los Pinos for 4 nights in July. What a wonderful place to spend some time. There was talk of me getting up at dawn to ride my bike but this place is so chilled out that this was never really an option! Instead we would have an amazing breakfast then I'd set of into the hills for a few hours of the most epic riding. Beautiful mountain passes, stunning views, eagles (x3), no cars - amazing, and all on the doorstep! As everyone's mentioned, Terry and Julie are the most fantastic hosts with a genuine feel for everything thats local and good about the area. Perfect for idyllic isolation, as a base for the cultural highs (Grenada, Malaga, Seville and Cordoba) and for the thrills of the mountains (climbing, biking). See you soon!

We found ourselves at Finca Los Pinos for a long weekend in May to celebrate a birthday and to learn how to climb outdoors in the beautiful mountains surrounding Villeneuve del Rosario. Booking couldn’t be simpler and Julie was so helpful and accommodating, from suggesting fabulous restaurants in the local area for birthday celebrations, keeping us updated on the much needed sunshine and even offering to bake a delicious orange drizzle birthday cake!
We arrived and were met by Julie and Terry and were immediately made to feel at home. Settled amongst the olive and almond trees with stunning views of the mountains we were to climb, Finca Los Pinos was just perfect!

Julie and Terry have a fantastic artistic flair which can be seen throughout Finca Los Pinos. Everywhere you look, so much thought and detail has been put into it to really make you feel at home. The rooms are beautiful and individually decorated with a lovely selection of tea/coffee facilities with homemade cookies and a complimentary mini-bar was also a treat, especially the cava after a hot day climbing! And Finca wouldn’t be what it is without the stunning sounds of Julie and Terry’s music collection which can always be heard in background.

I would definitely recommend having one of Julie’s superb dinners. Wanting to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, Julie made an amazing four course birthday meal with delicious wine, carefully chosen by Terry. One thing’s for sure, you won’t get a bad wine at Finca, and all for an amazing €20 each!

At Finca Los Pinos, you arrive as guests and you leave as friends. Julie and Terry are the perfect hosts and nothing is ever a hassle. From packed lunches, bottles of water, places to visit, to cold beers and welcoming smiling faces at the end of the day, Finca Los Pinos never fails.

Room Tip: Ndoro is decorated with and African theme and textiles with a terrace and stunning views of the moun...

We've just come back from a 2 day stay, primarily to sort some business affairs local to Los Pinos, but our stay at Los Pinos was far from a business trip! Julie and Terry, the owners, were ready with a warm welcome and chilled cava. They have put their heart and soul into the refurbishment of this old finca and the atmosphere is simply wonderful. There are 2 rooms - we stayed in Ndoro with it's lovely private terrace overlooking the garden with its fruit trees and stylish pool area. Our room was stylish and practical - filled with little antiquities as well as the welcome modern touches (tv tucked away from view, mini bar with soft drinks and wine and tea/coffee making facilities). Molton Brown toiletries and huge fluffy towels was the icing on the cake!
Breakfast is generous, fresh and flavoursome. Breads, fruit, yoghurt and a really unique 'egg menu' - a joint effort by Julie and her resident hens! (I loved the fig jam made, of course, from Los Pinos figs).

Los Pinos is in a quiet spot with stunning views situated on the edge of Villaneuva del Rosario which is within a few minutes drive to the motorways which will get you across the Andalucia region. Just 35 mins dead easy drive from Malaga airport (heading north east). We had to drive into Antequerra (thanks for the map Terry, we've bought it home to laminate for future reference!!) which is worth a trip - lovely old town with just about everything you'll need. The weather was super hot whilst we were at Los Pinos but another plus point which we hadn't realised is that this B&B is less than an hour and a half from the ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada. All-in-all a super trip where we met and made friends with the amazingly hospitable Julie and Terry. We'll be back to see them within the next 2 months!!

Room Tip: Both rooms have a private terrace and are uniquely and tastefully presented. Ndoro has views of the...

Thanks to Julie and Terry, we had wonderful time. They gave us a warm welcome and did their best to help us during our stay. The room, Ndoro, was tastfully decorated, clean and comfortable. Every item has a story. A lovely view from the bed. Julie made the best breakfast in Andalucia with fresh eggs from the hens. We came as guests, and left as friends after four days. We just loved it and we'll be back for sure. Enjoy your stay with lovely hosts!!

We stayed with Julie and Terry ( Mr Fry :-) ) for a couple of nights in early May (2012), how we wishd it had been longer. There may only be two rooms but they are both stunning as is the location, but however awesome the location it is nothing compared to the hospitality of these two guys !! We cannot wait to go back, don't miss out this is an amazing place and two amazing people to look after you. As they say back here in Belfast the craic is mighty!!

Enjoy David and Dee

Room Tip: Both rooms are amazing but Ndorro has the views!!

This is the perfect hideaway. It has everything you could ask for, we spent three nights here at the beginning of March.
We chose the Morrocan style room with it's vibrant colours and interesting treasures. Slept like a log in the wonderful bed with it's crisp white cotton sheets. The bathroom is beautiful with it's amazing brass sink surrounded by pink mosaic tiles, fabulous! There was TV, minibar and hot drink facilities. The central heating was much appreciated in March as the evenings were chilly, still snow on the mountains but the days were sunny, perfect climate to explore the surrounding villages and traditional Spanish towns especially the Tapas bars. Great value for money!
We tasted the most amazing food cooked by Julie with vegetables and herbs hand picked by Terry from their own garden. Complimented by their excellent choice of wine.
Breakfast..... We sat in the breakfast room overlooking the beautiful garden and swimming pool with a back drop of fruit trees and stunning scenery. So many interesting finds to take your breath away, (after breakfast , check out the ancient Morrocan doors hidden away in this wonderful outside living space) .We ate fresh bread, homemade jams but , best of all were the eggs from their own chickens. Each morning we tasted a different dish from Julie's own secret recipe. Amazing!
Julie and Terry have travelled the world , their stunning home is testament to this! They have chosen to settle in this beautiful place and you should join them for a taste of the best!
We only wish we had checked in for longer it was so hard to leave.

Room Tip: It's difficult ! Both are stunning!

Set off the beaten track, Finca Los Pinos has double two rooms for guests, Taros (Morrocan, the one we stayed in) and Ndorro (African). Both are brilliantly presented, offering privacy and seperation from each other and the main property. The decor, beds and general design is quite exceptional. I've addded some pictures but not as good as the experience.

Be warned, arising from slumber in these bedrooms is not easy. I regulary clocked up hours more sleep than usual!

The location offers superb views of the mountains and is local to the 'Spanish Lakes'. Scenary to astound, climb, walk, bike, photograph......look at from a lounger. Whatever is your bag.

Lou and Terry, your hosts, have established something quite special that I would recommend before the block booking starts to affect availability. You will want to return. They could not be more accomodating, gregarious, and genuninely friendly in every respect.

Breakfast, or evening meal if you wish, if served using fresh garden produce wherever possible and warm fresh eggs from the 'girls' in the chicken coup. I recommend tying the chilli/egg dish which kick starts the day wonderfully well, especially if the wine was a little too easy going down.

This is a wonderful place to base a visit to the region from and really easy to get to from Malaga.

I'm going back as soon as I can arrange it.
