    Westwood Galway

    Stayed here for one night on a business trip. Ate in the bar on arrival - food was great. I got a corner room which is very spacious and had a lovely wee fireplace feature on one wall. Nice quiet location for those wanting a good nights sleep. Breakfast was nice in the morning time. Staff all very pleasant. Great location for visiting NUI Galway (University).

    Stayed one night on a DealRush promotion. Highly reccommend it. The minute we arrived the staff were so welcoming. Amy in reception should receive "receptionist of the year award". Had a meal in the bar, again the bar staff were very welcoming and the food was nice also. Will definately stay there again.

    Great - as they always are!

    The Westwood is always great! Good service, friendly staff, nice pub and good food! Rooms excellent and just generally a pleasant place to stay. Lots of parking (except when there is a function on but this is understandable) and easy access to the city. A bus stop right outside!

    Room Tip: All rooms stayed in over a number of years have all been equally good - nice and big (compared to some places!!) Maybe avoid ones over the entrance area if there is an evening function on.

    Short business stay

    I have spent one night while travelling for business. The rooms are nice, personnell is friendly and helpful. The hotel is good option if you are visiting NUI Galway as it is about 10 min walking distance. You need a taxi to get to the city center (about 10 EUR)

    Avoid rooms next to aircon units

    Air conditioning unit outside of window was noisy and is a bit of an eyesore. Could not adjust temperature of shower. Breakfast was nice and staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel bar is nice and there is a good atmosphere.

    Room Tip: Ask for a room away from Aircon units.

    Many thanks for your review. I apologise about the issue with your shower and would like to let you know that we had that looked into and resolved. I agree that the aircon units are not the prettiest view to look at but are unfortunately a neccessary evil. On foot of your review we are looking at putting up some visually appealing screening around the unit in question and hope to get this work completed shortly. Nothwithstanding the above I was pleased that you enjoyed your stay overall and we look forward to hopefully welcoming you back to us on some future date.
