“This is a comfortable very quiet cottage with lots to see and do within a few miles”

Stayed at this cottage with husband and mother in law. It's comfortable but not luxurious. Very quiet and peaceful but lots to see and do within a few miles along roads with hardly any traffic about (unlike England!) Nice comfy reclining sofas and everything available to light a log fire, Central heating as well though. 2 large bedrooms with lots of drawer space. Double bed in smaller room was a little uncomfortable. Kitchen was well stocked. The cooker was a little old but worked perfectly. We realised the toaster was broken and reported it to the owner who lives a few hundred yards away, he replaced it with a brand new one in less than an hour!! He was very helpful and approachable. Nice big garden with furniture if weather is nice. My husband enjoyed the fishing in River Shannon and caught lots of fish. It's about a mile away.
Price of cottage was very reasonable compared with some we looked at, and well worth it.
Don't miss lovely lough Key about 5 miles away, for 4 euros to park you can have the whole day there. Also Glencar waterfall is stunning, that's near to Sligo about 30 mins drive.
