“Outstanding as ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2014

If you want a pub which is quaint, with great views, friendly staff and outstanding food you can not go wrong with The Ship Inn, Noss Mayo. Parking on the river bed, ducking your head to go through the door to see smiling faces and wood fires, you know you are onto a winner immediately.
The food is varied with 'main meals' and 'pub meals' sections. We chose as a family from the pub menu with the children able to select anything as a smaller portion. They had fish and chips and the burger, my wife the curry and I had an excellent steak and kidney pie.
Great choice of beers, lovely puddings (sticky toffee x2 on this occasion) and in such a lovely setting.
The Ship Inn is our current favourite local pub (to Plymouth). It has it all.

“Very good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

Visited on New Year's Day following a long and wet walk. There was a group of us (about 14) and we all had a really good meal. The food was tasty and hot and the service very good and friendly. My fish (fish and chips) was ok but not brilliant, overall verb good.

Would definitely return in the future.

“Birthday lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

We went on Boxing Day to celebrate our Son's birthday. The food was very good as was the service even though they were extremely busy. The surroundings were lovely and would definitely return on another occasion. Thank you.

“Very good food and excellent, friendly service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2014

Went with some friends on a Thursday lunchtime, having pre-booked. Parked in the river outside - fine at low tide, but check the tide times if you are planning a long meal ;)

Our table was ready for us, and we were allowed to settle before our drinks order was taken. The Chicken curry main course was first class - good chunks of chicken, beautifully cooked, and hot but not too hot. Poppadoms were crispy and not in the least oily. Service was excellent, not intrusive, efficient.

Under £20 for main course, pre-lunch drink and post-lunch coffee.
