Me and my friend spend 3 days at Kathleen and Pepe casa botania, we loved the place, the room had a great view to the valley, breath taking, lots of birds and wildlife in the area, for us it was a resting point.

Now to get to that area can be bit hard, but it was an adventure, the location is perfect in high point looking to the valley, you can take a great hike down the rivers which was so great, no people around, and dont miss to get some coffee from san vito, cafe Lila, they grow and roast it there and its amazing !!.

Kathleen father was the chef and he made us an amazing dinner 3 course dinner for 18$ is not bad at all.

Pepe arranged for us the transfer from sierpe to drake bay and the safe parking for the car, thanks pepe, i really think that this area will be the next place to be.

The room - was great , clean , perfect view, hot water, clean towels and great bed to rest after a long day.

Food - killer breakfast, amazing coffee ( Lila coffee )

the area - very rural, wild and amazing, dont miss the hike down to the forest its like 3-4 hours , with lots of river and places to rest, in addition lots of coffee plantations in the area, at the end of the hike you end up at san vito center, nice little town, we had some tasty cakes and coffee in a local bakery , was so good and so cheap.

So guys, if you in costa rica and have the time to head all the way down to san vito, dont miss a visit at casa botania .

thank you guys , and lots of warm regards from me -Aviv - dutch israeli guy & Shalom israeli

P.s - Kathleen send hello to your father. :)

Room Tip: both room has an amazing view to the valley, i like the right room more

This is a delightful B&B. The view is beautiful from the balconies, the rooms are lovely, the food is outstanding and the hosts are helpful and knowledgable about the area. Pepe gave us excellent advice about birding. This was the housing highlight of our trip. Janet and Emily

Absolutely lovely place! It's located right in the middle between the botanical gardens and the town of San Vito. The views are incredible from every angle of the lodge. We stayed at the two bedroom bangalow. Really neat, nice and clean. You can lay in bed and look up to see incredible views of the valley for as far as the eye can see.
The food was outstanding! We ate at the restaurant every evening. Fantastic 3 course meal and great wine. Great for families. We had our 3 year old daughter with us and she loved it. The owners are so friendly. She was taken every morning to feed the chickens.

Every once in a while when traveling one does hit pay dirt! One of our fellow travelers felt "this has to be the most romantic place I've ever been". Read all the other rave reviews. There is not a word of exaggeration. We will be back.

We visited San Vito last year, stated with Pepe and Kathleen at Casa Botania, and we were NOT disappointed. It is a wonderful place! The views were awesome, the rooms provided everything we needed and the meals were out-of-this world! The hosts are gracious and delightful people. We returned again last week and stopped by for another wonderful meal. We plan to visit every chance we get. What a gem!

We spent a night in the small cabina recently. The room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. We slept well with the windows open. Normally we do not do that in CR but it felt safe here. There was plenty of hot water and huge white fluffy towels.
The dinner (Mahi mahi w/ tarragon cream sauce) prepared by Kathleens father was probably one of the best meals I have had In CR. Breakfast was also good and the coffee superb.
The family members were so nice and amazingly relaxed considering there was a baby one week over due!
We wish them continued success with their business.

The view is beautiful and the bedding was very nice however the bed was hard. Our biggest complaint was no hot water. The sink only has a cold water faucet and the "suicide" shower was barely warm. They obviously put a lot of thought, effort and money into it but not sure why they cut corners with the water set up. They were very friendly and the room was very clean.
