“Great Place to Relax and enjoy Tahoe”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2010

Great, relaxing place to stay in Tahoe. Rooms were very clean, lodge decor was wonderful--loved the outdoor theme. The "waffle bar" breakfast was outstanding! We especially enjoyed the lodge with games, snacks and drinks, movies and the s'mores each night. Thank you Christine and David!--we will be back!

The very friendly service makes this a wonderful place to stay. Breakfast in the morning, happy hour in the evening, and roasting marsh mellows by the fire at night. They have bikes and kayaks available for free. The owners are always available to offer tips for things to do in and around Tahoe. The rooms are very nice and well kept.

We traveled with our 2 kids and small dog, and immediately the kids were so at home, especially after a wam welcome from sweet Kona! My teenage son said he wanted to come back soon within minutesof being shown around . In our room we were pleasantly surprised with a treat for our dog as well as treat for the humans - delicicious chocolate chip cookies. There were doggie blankets to cover the beds in case you want to allow your dog on the bed.

We enjoyed everything they had to offer: The game room, warm chocolate milk, coffees, tea and snacks, a video library, free bikes to explore our surroundings and ride to the beach, use of the kayaks, which even came with everything needed to get them to the lake, as well as beachtowels. Smores were yummy, wine and cheese every evening, and a private, relaxing hot tub. They provided robesand towels for the spa.

What can we say about the breakfast - everything you could want was already thought of, including warmed syrup on the breakfast table, fruits to add to the waffles (whipped cream for the kids), boiled eggs, etc.! Just terrific! Everything was comfortable and welcoming.

The Fireside Lodge was the first stop on our honeymoon road trip. It was a wonderful place to stay. We were welcomed immediately by Chelsea and shown around the property. We were immediately impressed with the arcade and bar and the offerings, which included a waffle bar, fire pit with s'more fixings, and cheese and wine happy hour. We enjoyed our stay at the Fireside Lodge. The only thing I can say is that it was a little noisy, since the doors to the rooms go straight outdoors and it did make me a little uncomfortable since we were honeymooning. That would not hold me back from recommending this B&B to travelers of any kind, though.

Based on the rave reviews in tripadvisor we booked 3 nights at the Fireside in mid-July. The owners and staff are wonderful, friendly, and very committed to having their guests enjoy their stay. Free bikes and kayaks are a great touch as is the wine/cheese each evening, followed by s'mores by the gas-powered fire pit. Bring lots of quarters for the vintage skee-ball machine! What was not mentioned in any of the reviews is that the property is right on the main road. In the summer the rooms are not air conditioned, so one wants to open the windows. This means listening to endless traffic noise through the night. Also, the beds are directly next to the windows in the guest rooms, right on the pedestrian walkway around the property. With open windows it's not exactly the place for a romantic interlude! Overall, though a great value for the area.

So my fiance and I deceided to plan a quick getaway to Tahoe two days before memorial day this year. I called and spoke to christine and she helped me tremendously by setting me up in cabin 5 with our dogs for the weekend. When we arrived the pictures did not lie and the facility did not disappoint. This place is extremely dog, kid, couple, family...you know name it they cater to the crowd. Breakfast was awesome, me being a waffle man, the wine and cheese was a great touch and the smore stuff is also a nice ending to an evening. We also used the bikes one day and the property is located right next to a great bike path. Of couse I cannot forget to mention Kona, the hungry yellow bear, she is a sweetheart. My fiance and I loved this place and are going to come back soon, with our dogs of course. Thank you Christine, Dave and all the staff for a wonderful trip. Wish we could have styaed longer.

My sister and I took our parents here for an extended weekend to celebrate their "50th Wedding Anniversary," and it is such a welcoming place. We had a great time, just like everyone says. The lodge is so cozy, you can't help but feel comfortable and hospitality from the staff is superb. Breakfast waffles are delicious and we really enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night & making smores and talking with other lodge guests. I am in the process of making plans to come back in a few months. Can't wait to see Kona again! Thank you to all the staff for making our stay a most pleasant experience. We will recommend the Fireside Lodge to all our friends and family.
