From the minute we walked in and met darling Kathy at the front desk, to the sad moment we had to head on down the mountain; all of our expectations were met. Great accommodations, tasty treats, wonderful amenities and friendly people. You cannot go wrong choosing The Fireside Lodge. We biked and kayaked, beached, toured, ate, watched movies, chatted, rested and relaxed. We sat by the fire and chilled, petting Kona (the owner's Golden) when she cruised by. There is great breakfast, as well as happy hour fare. Then around 7pm, s'more fixin's are set out!
We'll be back!

Room Tip: We stayed in "The Pioneer" room. It is exactly as pictured on the site. The owners have r...

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Tahoe without having to worry if you picked the right place, THIS IS IT!!! Fireside Lodge has everything for the long-tern or short-tern vacationer. My husband and I stayed here for the 4th of July and enjoyed every minute of or stay, wish we could have stayed longer. Dave and Christine are exceptional hosts. The lodge has so many extra amenities free to guests (game room, relaxation room, complementary bikes and kayaks, happy hour, late night s'mores in the outdoor fire pit, and even yummy hot waffles with complete waffle-bar with any toppings you could think of), and best of all PET FRIENDLY!!! We were greeted in the parking lot by the friendliest hostess, Kona (owners yellow lab). The rooms are cozy, well maintained, clean, and stocked with lots of extras, even a kitchenette that is stocked with everything you need. They have rooms for two or if needed, larger rooms for the whole family. Close to all the fun activities to do in Lake Tahoe. We checked out by booking a reservation to come back in the winter time to play in the snow!

What a delightful place. Unpretentious, reasonable and low key, yet offers all the niceties of a boutique hotel (both for humans and for well-behaved pooches). Wine and cheese in the early evening; s'mores by the fire pit at night; a big movie collection; a sauna; vintage arcade games; bikes and kayaks... all free and all in a quaint, cozy, country-style setting.

The rooms' decoration is full of personal touches that show how much care the owners put into their B&B. They are equipped with a mini kitchen and dining table.

The location is ideal, with easy access to the best hikes in the area, the best beaches, and far from the casino nightmare.

Picked this B & B because we were looking for a place near where we wanted to kayak. When you drive up, it looks like a typical Tahoe quaint lodging. However, it is not. The rooms are wonderfully decorated in different Tahoe themes with many extras in the rooms. The lodge itself has several different areas to relax. We especially liked the firepit area to enjoy "Happy Hour" . Nearby, there is a paved bike path and some dirt bike trails that are great fun. The owners have done many things that say," we are glad you have joined us".. They have put much thought in to what people would like in a bed and breakfast. This place is a true gem!

Room Tip: We stayed in Big Blue--- from the little kitchen table, you look out at the forest. I would, also...

We had never been to Lake Tahoe and stumbled upon this cute lodge. We stayed in the Bears Den and the accomodations were wonderful. The lodge is cozy, friendly, decorated wonderfully and just about all inclusive. From the moment we got there Christine treated us like family. Fresh baked cookies awaited us in our room as we checked in. We took the kayaks out one day, bikes the next day and gathered around the wonderful fire pit for wine and cheese and later on smores. The waffle bar for breakfast was fabulous. We tried all different kinds of toppings each morning. Snacks were available when we got back from bike riding and kayaking. It's all included!!!!! We hardly paid for a thing. We arrived home and I was on the phone within the hour and had already booked our next trip over Labor Day weekend. This time we are bringing friends with us. Can't wait to go back. Maybe one day we will bring the kids! It would be a fabulous place for families but for now my husband and I are being selfish!!!

This was our second visit to the Fireside Lodge and was even more relaxing than our first visit, thanks to the upgraded beds. We spent many a day relaxing in the hammock and in the hibernation/relaxation room listening to the soothing music and trickling water fountain. Kona, the resort pooch, greeted us like an old friend. The staff and owners of the Fireside are very welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed delicious homemade waffles in the gathering room every morning, as well as evening happy hour & s'mores by the fire pit.

Room Tip: If you have the time, head up to Rosie's Cafe in Tahoe City for a delicious burger. Pope and Ba...

I can't say enough about the Fireside Lodge....it was the most relaxing vacation I've been on. If you want to feel special this is the place. Everyone was so friendly and warm....including "KONA". Sitting outside listening to the waterfall....oh my gosh so.....relaxing. Everything absolutly spotless. The breakfast," HOMEMADE WAFFLES" out of this world. The Hybernation Room...well let me just say, I had an out of body experience...the massage was WONDERFUL! Christine and David are the most hospitable couple I've meant. They are so knowledgable for anything you need to know about Tahoe...what to do,where to go. This place is unforgettable. Don't think twice, just book a room :)
