Our family stayed here in July for 4 nights. We always stay at this motel when we go to Lake Tahoe. The location is geat. It is located right across the street from Harvey's. The rooms and clean and the rates are reasonable. The managers, Sunny and Tom, are wonderful. They will do everything to make your stay an enjoyable one. We highly recommend this motel.

Stayed here for 2 nights in Sept 2012. For $171 we thought it was exceptional value and thank Mike in the Visitor Center for his recommendation! Came down from Reno where we stayed for $49 + tax in Harrahs. Thought we'd get a silmiliar deal in South Lake Tahoe. Joke! They wanted $195 for 1st night and $300 for next (Fri & Sat). Across road found Capri Motel! Amazing! Lovely lady showed us a couple of rooms and chose a corner ground floor room. It was perfect. Great breakfast - fruit, cereal, juices etc Also had free pass for the private 'beach' which we made good use of. If you are on a budget go over to Raleys and pick up your food there as you've got a microwave, fridge etc!

Room Tip: ground floor, corner from reception better than ones facing road I guess would be quieter. Bit more expensive but well worth it

We have stayed there twice just recently. Twice because the first stay was great. We will always stay there when we got to Tahoe. The front desk person was awesome. The room was good, not overly fancy but clean and neat. The location was fabulous, as it is right across from Harveys and a half a block from the concert stadium. It just doesn't get any better than that, especially for the price. Also the pool was fantastic!

Pros: location, clean pool albeit small, the woman at check-in (great service), parking,

Cons: room I had, costs

The location is walking distance of most things and even though its on the California side, literally across the street is Nevada thus gaming is available very close by- Harvey's and Harrah's the two main ones.

I saw on hotels.com this room was available and I was already in town. I called and got the room for almost 100.00 including everything. The room/accommodation should be around 60 per night. From the reviews it seems there are different rooms because mine didn't have a fridge or other amenities the other reviewers talked about. The smell in the room was beyond musty. The door handle going into the room was obviously busted at some point. The TV is an RCA tube, the furnishings, as well as paintings, are VERY old school.

The woman at the desk at check-in was soooooo nice and genuinely helped me out in terms of getting acclimated to the town.

Would I stay here again? Probably not. One thing to keep in mind, prices around Lake Tahoe are not really cheap and you will likely find more of the same type of accomodation for the same price. The rooms are quite big relative to other hotels.

Room Tip: There are rooms in the inner-courtyard area which are likely quieter as they are blocked from the street noise. I had a room on the street-side and it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't want the window open for the cool mountain air.

Never again will i stay there again! The husband/manager was a total jerk. We were late arrivals and we had an 11 and 12 yr old with us and we were accused, by our nghbors, of being loud all night. The husband didnt even give us a chance to talk. In the parking lot he was yelling and cussing at us and in the office also. I started to cry because I could not believe how we were treated as paying customers. The wife really didnt say much she was trying to be considerate but I could tell that she doesnt have a say. We had planned on staying there 2 nights, but that changed. On a busy weekend and last minute we were put in a bind. Very disappointed i guess there other customers were more valuable, but they lost us plus every one we know....

Glad we could accommodate a late arrival, however respect of the other guests is expected. If there had not been complaints about the noise after 11pm there would not have been an issue.
