We had a good time renting bikes from Anderson's.

The bikes were really good and they picked ones specifically for our height, showed us the gears, and gave us a map with semi-tour on it. It takes you north through Pope Beach, Camp Richardson, Tallac Sites, and Baldwin Beach. On bike all of these locations are free, but if you drove you'd pay $7 to enter each one of them and they give you a lock if you want to get off and lay on the beach or get food. They say most people do the ride in about 2 hours, but we took 3 and still didn't make it to the very end. I suppose it could be done in 2 hours if you don't stop and get off to take pictures. They say if you bike 3 hours the next hour is free and the following hour would be half off, and I think free after that. We misunderstood what they meant by that and thought that our 3rd hour was free, but it ended up being $30 each for 3 hours. They close at 6 so the hour we would've gotten free was when they were closed.

Overall, this is a great activity to visit several places in the area. If you want to spend time at the beach on this tour, I'd focus on Baldwin Beach which was the nicest. You might want to try the tour in the reverse order if this is the case, you won't really miss out doing it the other way, but it would guarantee that you get to spend time at the best beach.

My wife and I are from the east coast and are totally new to the Tahoe area, this was a great way to see a bunch of south lake Tahoe without fighting for parking. You rent the bike from a quiet residential area with plenty of parking. The friendly staff set you up with a map, it's easy -- just follow the public paved bike path to beaches and historic sites. It cost 10 an hour per bike pro-rated. I wish they had more choice in bikes, I would have liked to ride more of a hybrid rather then the fat tired cruiser, but the bike are well maintained and ride smooth. We completed their recommended tour in just over 2 hours and rode about 11 miles in the process. Great day.

Four of us (ranging from 12 - 60) rented bikes per recommendation from resort. The staff was friendly, very informative and helpful. They provided not only a map of the area and trails but suggestions on where to go based on the level of riders you have. Affordable and you may be able to get a discount (ask) 10%. There are several bike options too for all ages. All have gears and comfy seats. ITs apx $10 an hour and if you go more then3 hours, the 4th is free then it is $5 an hour after that. We did 10 miles and rode 4 1/2 hours. You can keep your own pase.

Most of the path is paved. You can opt to go off the beaten path. We did and it was an experience but well worth it. We went to fallen leaf lake. BEAUTIFUL and worth the hard ride. It is off road for sure, my 12 year old struggled but made it. You can also go to Lucky Baldwin's estate from the late 1800's. Interesting to see how they lived way back in the day.
We stopped on the way back at Beacon's bar and grill as suggested by Anderson's. BEAUTIFUL beach and great drinks :) (only had one since riding and that was enough). Stop for ice cream at the always packed ice cream shop.

The people at Anderson's were very friendly. They answered any questions we had about any points on the map. The prices weren't bad (10/hr per bike, and they prorate in increments of 15 minutes, which is nice). The bikes were in really good shape! The pathway takes you around a part of Lake Tahoe, and you can choose where you want to veer off to see a beach (I believe there's 3 on the path). There's also Leaf Lake along the path if you choose to take it, but we didn't. We biked and hung out for a while on Baldwin beach. The trip took us just under 2 hours because we stopped at the beaches. Had we chosen to picnic at the beach or swim, we could have extended it to 3 hours. I would rent from them again if I go back to Lake Tahoe!

These guys are really good and professional-like. They gave us a trail to follow with a map and pointed out nice spots to stop. The bikes are good, and we had a lot of fun riding all the way to Fallen Leaves. Decent pricing per hour (3 of us for 2 and a half hours was $67.50) While we were on the trail, we accidentally dropped the car keys, but didn't realize it until we were almost back. The people manning the shop were very helpful, and even sent one of their employees with us in a car to drive back along the trail. They have a very friendly staff, and I will definitely ride with them again!
