After making the rounds at the other one star motels during for our three day middle of the week stay, we chose The Ambassador, which seemed the best of the bunch, although slightly more expensive. In the room, which was clean and larger than the other one stars motels, there was a decent (firm)bed, a microwave and refrigerator. The unit did not have A/C and the central heating was never tested, this was not an issue since during our stay the daytime temp range was 72-43. Smallish TV, but everything worked and a broken screen was quickly replaced when we mentioned it.
We felt quite lucky that no one was put over us and our neighbors were very quiet, we had a three peaceful night's sleep.
The pool was heated, but cloudy probably due to the yellow tree pollen which was everywhere. This did not stop many people from using it.
The managers were very friendly and patient as we checked out a number of rooms and came back a couple of times from checking out other nearby places, like the Alpine Inn around the corner which was decent, but had smaller rooms and a soft bed.
We really didn't have any problems with anything, but as always, you are only one noisy neighbor away from a miserable stay.
I'd say check it out and the other nearby motels....you definitely can bargain on the price at all of them.....Good luck.More
