“Tahoe adventure”

We stayed over a partial Labor Day weekend-Thurs and Fri night. Found out right away that's it's not a great place to take a boat. They'll have you park it in back of the Raley's store which didn't feel very secure to us at all. Had to take out everything we had in the boat and stuff it inside the truck. Stayed in a two bdrm 3 bath which was nice and roomy. However Fri morning the power went out to the immediate area. It was out for most of the day and the cable tv and internet were still out once the power came back on. No hot water until the end of the day. Hotel staff were pleasant in spite, but...

Saturday, launched the boat at South Lake Tahoe Recreation Area & Boat Ramp on Lakeview Ave for $15-not for new boat owners. Watched as a new truck/boat owner managed to get both stuck. The trailer went off the end of the ramp, the boat got stuck on a sandbar and wouldn't come off, and the truck became submerged and had to be towed out. This launch ramp was much cheaper than the ramp closer to the hotel ,the Lakeside Marina. Lakeside wanted $20 in and $20 out.

Great rooms, we stayed in a 1 bedroom suite with a jacuzzi tub. Starting to look a little worn. Very nice location, and the food is close by. But there is no ROOM SERVICE! I would rate this hotel a 3 for lack of services, and the pool is very small. I would recommend driving up the California side to Squaw peak, and check out the castle. STUNNING! Stay away from the restaurant Fresh Catch, HORRIBLE food!

We were guests of my parents for three nights at the Marriott. We stayed in the 3-bedroom and 2-bedroom condos. We had to switch in the middle because they had booked us in the 3-bedroom for 3 nights, but it turned out they only have 2 3-bedrooms and one was available for two nights, the other for one night, but their computer system did not show this.

They are a nice place. The pool is very good. The hot-tubs nice. The place is clean. Quality of units is good. I would have given it 5 stars (instead of 4) because a few of the workers were below average (unfriendly, unhelpful, not knowing what to do). Plus when you called the front desk, you were constantly put on a long hold

But we would all go back here. It is pricey, but worth the price. The location of course is fantastic.

My wife and I just returned home from a 3 day stay, and Can't wait to go back!
We booked the smallest unit.It was just perfect for 2 .
It was next to shops, restaurants,a grocery store, and the Casinos.
Very comfortable beds!
I do not know what others are complaining about. It is not 4 star but it was clean ,comfortable, and modern
.I found the staff to be very helpful.
I was never approached by a salesman for their timeshare.
The only thing I would do differently next time is unload my luggage and drive down the street and park my car at Harrah;s for free.$17.00 a day was a little steep for parking.
We will definately stay here again! Yuo should stay here too ,If you are not a picky 4 or 5 star hotel person.

The location of the hotel is very convenient, it's close to shopping, casinos, and restaurants. Check in was quick and the welcome gift is a nice touch. The rooms are nice; the beds are comfortable, there are cozy fireplaces and the kitchens are fully stocked.
We originally had a one bedroom and wanted to move to a two bedroom. Seemed simple enough, however the front desk service is lacking. We were given the runaround, when we eventually changed rooms, we were very pleased and glad we did so.
The pool area is nice. However, there apparently was a group of individuals on "spring break". They were doing beer bongs in the pool and smoking at the "non-smoking facility" and it was basically a scene from the Real World. We asked for security and unfortunately no one came. That was very disappointing, as it made for an uncomfortable situation.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our two night stay! I must say that I believe the critical comments on this hotel are largely unfounded. Sure, it's not a Ritz, but it serves its purpose extremely well.

It's a modern building in a beautiful setting with well-appointed rooms. The pool is warm and in a relaxing setting. The location of the hotel is great as there are several shopping and dining options within walking distance. The beach and casinos are only a couple blocks away, and for skiers, the Heavenly Gondola is right in your backyard.

We got a great weekday rate, but I know the hotel is typically expensive. If you're simply looking for cost-effectiveness and/or on the beach, there are some decent Best Western-type hotels. If you're looking for a resort, the Marriott's one of the best in Tahoe.

I have stayed at the Grand Residence for three of the past for years and look forward to going back again this year.

It is in a terrific location literally minutes from Stateline, Nevada. Leaving my room I was able to walk to a crap table in less than five minutes. There are restaurants and shops right on sight and other activities such as miniature golf in summer and movie theaters. A Raley's supermarket is right across the street so you can stock up your kitchen. The Gondola to Heavenly whisks you very quickly up the mountain to a fantastic view of Lake Tahoe although it might be closed during times of high winds or afternoon thunderstorms.

The room has a big kitchen with a stove, dishwasher and regular size fridge. The master bathroom has a big Jacuzzi tub except in the handicapped accessible room. I was put in one of those one time and asked to be moved because my wife loves to tub and my kids actually WANT to take a bath in it.

One thing to bear in mind, though, is that this is a timeshare hotel and not a full service hotel. If you're looking for 24 hour room service, twice daily maid service or the other things offered at a regular hotel you will be disappointed. But I have found it to be a great place to take the family for a vacation and look forward to doing so for many years to come.
