I requested a refurbished room. It had two queen sized beds with new covers, the floor is bare walnut which gives it a mountain look, flat screen tv, coffee maker and small fridge. It was clean and the staff kept it that way while I was out hiking in the mountains. If you know what to expect, the breakfast works. I had cold cereal but they also had yogurt, toast, muffins and the like. There is a Starbucks nearby and an IHOP down the road.

Room needs to be updated. Broken screen in the front window. Noisy air conditioner that didn't work well. Filthy bathroom (black mold in the shower, shower dish was rusty with mold, and the vanity had food stuck on the front of it).

A real nice place to stay for a few days in Tahoe. The price was fantastic and the accommodations were comfortable and clean. Close walking distance to everything. Our room was spacious and clean. Older hotel but it adds to the charm.

Look, I'll be honest with you, this place is a bit run down. But for $115 a night for two people to stay half a block from the heart of all the activity in South Lake Tahoe it cannot be beat so if you are trying to make a trip on a budget you really should stay here it was clean, and the door locked.

We stayed here for several days in late June 2017, thankfully ahead of the 4th of July crowds. We had other family members staying up on the Highway, and we really appreciated being able to get off the Casino strip, yet still being within walking distance of all the action. Some rooms have been remodeled and some have not, but even the ones they haven't updated are OK. Nice friendly staff, and several outside sitting areas. Go somewhere else for breakfast, theirs is pretty minimal. The exterior appearance will improve greatly when the walkways are re-carpeted, very shabby. Overall we had a very positive experience and would definitely stay here again.

Room tip: Request a room that's been remodeled.
