“great getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013

I love to stay here. The staff is so kind and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. It really feels like a home away from home. I stayed last month, this month and will return for a week in June. You are so close to everthing and walking distance to stores and casinos. The units are beautiful. They are dog friendly in some units.

Room Tip: The new rooms are great but all the rooms are fine.

We were at South Lake Tahoe in second week of May, 2013. Even with nothing really to do there but hike, because most of the summer outdoor activities are closed till end of May.

The Americana Village staffs were very pleasant and helpful. They had guided us to some local hiking trails not listed on the usual hiking trail maps.

Now the studio room we stayed in was very cozy. It was just remodeled. They were still remodeling other rooms too, but kept the noise and the dirt to very, very minimum. The bath tub was not one of those cheap plastic tub you find even in expensive hotels. It was actually a whirlpool type bath tub. Granted our plug for the tub didn't work, but it was okay, we take showers, not baths anyway. The whole design of the bathroom was great, someone took some time to thought up the design and not just slab on the tiles to rent out the room. The towels were clean and soft too. The fold out air mattress bed from the couch was a plus, felt firm and not like the typical couch bed.

The cleaning crews were very friendly and fast at cleaning the room. Granted they only clean the room and change towels and bed sheet on Wed and Fri to save the water, but it was fine, the bed sheet was clean smelling and actually soft, not starchy like other hotels. The most amazing thing was the hot water. It comes hot in less than five seconds. I don't even get that at home and I have a tankless water heater. Bedroom were well designed for a small space. Two big screen TV in the room.

Unlike some "apartment like" motels, I don't hear the neighbors on the side or upstairs. The whole place was quiet.

The breakfast need some improvement, but it was not that important. Donuts as breakfast is not very healthy. But they do have hard boiled egg and fruits.

This is the best inn I've stayed in. The kitchenette was very nice too. The refrigerator was large enough, not your bar sized fridge. I would definitely stay there again in Tahoe.

We had stayed at the Horizon resorts a few weeks before and I was determined never to go there again and find a better place. And with Americana Village, we found the perfect location for our stay. The rooms all have a refrigerator, microwave, plates, hot plate, you name it. The kitchenette is perfect specially for a family like us who have a kid who is a picky eater! The different levels in the room with the living area and bedroom was great as we had 3 children in our party and while the kids watch TV, the adults hung out in the bedroom area which also has a dining table. The reception has free coffee and while the breakfast is simple with donuts and fruit, it was enough for us to get our day going! Highly recommend this place as the rooms are clean, comfortable and perfect for anyone but specially with kids!

We do love families here at the Americana, and believe we have a lot to offer them as you have so kindly pointed out. We are looking forward to adding even more, new activities to our schedule in the very near future so be sure to give them a look! The days are warming, the bikes will be coming out soon, the new bike path by the lake should be so fun to try. We hope you and your family will be coming up to South Lake Tahoe again soon.

We were going to stay at the Marriot in Lake Tahoe; however, they wouldn't allow us to check in until 4:00 pm and we had a tired 2 year old who needed a nap. We ended up staying at the Americana Village instead for 3 days and were happy we did. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room had a separate living room, it stepped up into an area with a queen size bed and a full size dining table, then you stepped down in a kitchenette. The kichen was fully equiped with everything except a stove (however, they had a two burner cooker.) The shower was very large with two shower heads. They have free movie check-out, books to borrow, bikes to borrow, free of charge. In the morning they offer coffee, apple juice, banana's and donuts. During the day they have free popcorn. Our room was clean and cozy. If you need anything, the staff are there to assist immediately. The pool was heated and clean, they have a hot tub too but I didn't check that out. Great place to stay!

We booked Americana Village thru our travel club and were not sure what to expect. We stayed in a remodeled 1 bedroom unit. We found the room to be very clean, comfortable and nicely appointed! The staff from front desk, housekeeping and maintenance were all friendly and helpful. We were enjoying our stay so much we invited friends from Sacremento to come for the weekend and, they also were impressed. We will definately return for another vacation!

The deluxe rooms were incredibly nice and well stocked. Two hi-def TV's (one for us, one for the kids) dishwasher, dishes, kitchen utensils, etc.

The staff was amazing! When we first got in, they offered popcorn, activities, free DVD rentals, etc. It was like being at a1950's style resort with recently renovated rooms. The staff bent over backwards to make our stay pleasant. A staff member was checking the chlorine while we were in the pool and my son struck up a conversation with him so then he went and found some goggles for my son. He even adjusted the goggles so they fit his head correctly. The pool was heated so we were able to swim with snow on the ground.

One night they had "wine and Karaoke" and the staff member who ran it made it a great experience for my kids. I can't say enough good things about this place. The rooms were also very clean and the deluxe rooms were decorated very nicely. I would ask to stay in one of the remodeled rooms.

The staff even pointed us to a free state park where we could sled with the kids and they provided sleds and snowshoes, at no charge.

Room Tip: Room 341 was great, but upstairs.

Wife and I needed a room in Tahoe for just one night and ended up at the Americana thanks to the reviews on TA. First of all, whenever we stay at the Casino Hotels or any of the motels around Tahoe, we are always disappointed. Not this time! Beautifully appointed room, nice size bathroom, comforatable bed and really clean. If you need there is enough of a kitchen set-up that you could make meals in the room. The only complaint was that the pillows were not at all comforatable. Had we known, we just would have brought ours from home. But, no problem. Also it's nice that you can book for only one night on the weekends. Try that at other motels.
If you need a room in Tahoe for a night or a week, definately book here.

Room Tip: Top floor was very quiet.
