“Excellent all the way around!”
Reviewed July 31, 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for the July 4th Holiday. The rooms were clean, service was outstanding and the location is difficult to beat! A couple blocks from the beach, walking distance to shops and restaurants make it a must stay! James and Angela provide top notch service! Their staff was amazing. They definitely aim to please and are successful at it! They even had a BBQ by the pool in which they provided food, drinks and music before the fabulous South Lake fireworks! We will definitely stay here each time we visit the beautiful Lake Tahoe! Thank you for a memorable July 4th!

We stayed in here from the 18th-20th July and were given a free upgrade to a larger room on the third floor. Whilst we were pleased with the room size, we were shocked over how unclean the room was, the coffee machine was covered in dust and it looked like underneath the bed had not seen a hoover for a long time-there were actual bits of foods there! Upon discovering this, I asked someone at the front desk to please see that the cleaner could do a better job and hoover under the bed but this was just ignored and was still in the same state when we checked out. Many fixtures of the room were very worn too -with the plug sockets falling apart. The general outside of the motel also looked like it had seen better days.

The location is very good, near to the beach and Casinos, however we have stayed in other budget motels in the same area which are much cleaner/in a better state of repair (Big Pines Mountain House, 7 Seas Inn at Tahoe) and therefore will not being staying here again.

the rooms were clean.
good shower pressure.
the ac was cold.
free breakfast (mostly premade carbs)
plenty of amenities such as pool, hot tub, sauna and private beach near by.
free wifi.
like many places around here, this place is stuck a few decades back. TV is 20+ years old. the bed was tired. the towels has seen too many cycles. they needed an imprint of my CC. really? who does that anymore?
so this place is a solid 3 as it fits the bill but nothing fancy.

so why the one star rating?
well, when i got into the hot tub, the water was so clear, i couldnt see my feet (sarcastic). that water was so dirty. sauna didnt work. the bridge between the buildings was collapsing. they should really fix this before someone gets hurt.
but the kicker was when the gardener was watering the plants, he dragged the hose between cars banging the dirty hose against the cars. while i was loading my car, he banged the hose into my car. he yelled out "sorry" and walked off. i was too busy loading my car, but when i checked out what happen, there were fine scratches on my front and rear driver side doors.
for $100+ a night for a room with 2 queens, i would pass on this place.

friendly staff, we have been happy with most everything, sliding glass door could use some repair. Easy walking distance to concert venue, .....most everything.
Sauna does not work, it has never worked that I know of, as in most of the posts, you get what you pay for......we WILL be back

don't make any special requests, they don't even bother to look at them. We were traveling with my handicapped mother and requested a ground floor room. I also paid for a deluxe double room. When we got there we were assigned a third floor room! When I told the clerk of our request, he then looked at the statement and said "oh yeah, but that's not guaranteed". He then struggled to find us a room on the first floor. Luckily he did, but the room was not a deluxe. I asked for a refund of the difference and he basically told me I was lucky to be on the ground floor. A handicapped person on the third floor, give me a break.

Room Tip: Slipping the clerk a twenty might help. Otherwise, call ahead, as I just learned.

We recently spent one night here on our way up north. Property is in a great spot within walking distance to the lake and beach, restaurants, shops, etc. Our room was ok, nothing special. Pool area was fine although we didn't swim there. This is a budget type motel so it was about what we expected. The service by the front office crew the day we arrived and the morning we departed was outstanding though. We would stay here again.

This REALLY is Americas Best Value Inn!

My son and I live in the area and needed a place to stay for a few days. We felt very fortunate to find this place. The room was large and clean. The carpet appeared to be new and the bathroom had nice tile flooring. I was blown-away by the amenities included-- sparkling pool, hot tub, dry sauna, barbecue area, laundry facility, fitness room, vending machines and even a beach pass. They also had a place to vacuum your car, wash your windows and put air in your tires-- ALL FOR FREE. Customer service was AMAZING! AND they accept pets!!! But absolutely BEST OF ALL they had nice white linens and COMFORTERS for the beds-- not those nasty bedspreads that you find at most budget inns. I have traveled extensively and I can honestly say this might be the best value I have ever encountered.
