I spent three nights here with my wife. There was a reason why this place was packed and the surrounding hotels were empty. This moderately priced hotel feels more like a quirky friend's home rather than a chain hotel. Each room has a kitchenette and fold up bed/couch. It's not fancy, but has a personal touch that is quite nice. Every day the staff puts on a small social/food event in the pool area. You can rent bikes for free, check out movies in their library, walk down to the beach, or hang out in their entertainment/workout room. This is a nice place to stay. Highly recommended.

Had a studio that was fine because we were out and about most of the day. Nice pool and hot tub. Good activities everyday that was nice. Had bikes to sign out which was very nice because of the numerous bike trails in the area. Nice bathroom with dual showers were really nice. Would stay here again. Near main road so traffic noise was there but not too bad.

We stayed at their one bedroom with a queen bed in one room and a full size pull out air mattress bed in the living room. It was their largest one bedroom above the check-in DVD library area facing the street. The living space was clean, well organized. The jacuzzi tub in the bathroom was great!!! The room has translucent shades all around the bay windows in the living room which was very pretty but the room is incredibly bright early in the mornings making it hard for the kids to sleep. The staff was helpful. There is complimentary bike rental and complimentary continental breakfast daily. The selection of breakfast was limited...only donuts, hard boiled eggs. The lake is another 10 minutes walking distance away. I would definitely recommend this place for the friendly staff, the clean rooms, and the complimentary bike rental! I probably would not stay in the same room only because of the street noise that can be heard at night.

Stardust Lodge is one of the most tastefully furnished resorts we have stayed at in the Tahoe area. Situated at the South end of Lake Tahoe the resort's renovation is a very tasteful mountain modern decor. The fitness room is superbly furnished with modern equipment for all types of exercise routines. The staff headed by the resort's manager Kenny, was very knowledgeable assisting us in our many requests for local attractions, events and activities. The housekeeping staff was very environmentally conscientious and kept the facilities in pristine condition. We enjoyed all the resort's amenities including the club room, pool, laundry facilities and media center. The resort has an outdoor sitting area to accommodate outdoor dining and lounging during our stay in the balmy June evenings. To Kenny and Maria the resorts head of housekeeping we extend our heartfelt thanks for an all the accommodating and service attention extended us during our stay. We will always have a specials place in our hearts for the wonderful memories we have of the Stardust Lodge.

Stardust Lodge was a god sent on one of the worst days of my vacation.

We showed up (in tears) from being verbally assaulted by the owners of The Hacienda Inn down the road. Their rooms were covered in pubic hair and we refused to stay there causing a dispute with the owners. The man at the front counter screamed at me until I was crying.

We left looking for salvation and the Stardust Lodge welcomed us with open arms. Jose was working the front counter and quickly gave us a discount on the room because I was shaking and crying. He also threw in a bottle of wine and some cookies. He apologized for the Hacienda experience and treated us like gold. He even stayed past his shift to make sure that everything was fine with our room.

The Stardust was beautiful inside and cost less than the pubic hair room at the Hacienda. Everything was spotless and wonderful! Thank you so much Jose!!!!!

This hotel is the only reason I will ever return to Tahoe! They made me feel so much better and took care of us completely.

The manager (Kenny) and his staff at this hotel couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. We were in Tahoe for a big cycling event, and although late check outs are by default not allowed, I mentioned that I wouldn't be done with the round-the-Lake Tahoe bike race until about 2pm the next day and the manager said not a problem and let us have the room till I returned and could get cleaned up. He even gave me a pool towel and said relax a while and cool off after the ride. My wife and I really like the room too. The combination of location, great service, and nice rooms can't be beat. We will definitely make a point to stay here again.
