3rd time in Tahoe and first time self catering.
First Townhouse we got (412) was shocking!
Heating did not work (minus 2 outside) and the electrics blew when we got a heating fan, so the first night was not the best best , as no one on site knew what to do!
Moved to 459 in the morning and it was an excellent house, with full working amenities!

Location is great for California Base, which is recommended over the Gondola all day long!

Free bus service to anywhere in S L Tahoe is a nice and helpfull touch!

We stayed for 2 nights at one of the townhomes at this hotel that has 3 bedrooms, a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms with another family. The location was really convenient. We just didn’t like the dated furniture and the bed was really uncomfortable that I even felt the spring. It seems like it’s been used for years. Hopefully they will eventually change all the furniture and the beds because it has a potential for a great hotel. As customers, we want the value for our money. We did not try the room service or the other amenities so can’t really comment on that. Sad to say, we won’t be back at this hotel.

Thought this would be a nice place to stay. The front desk people were very nice and helpful. The room was a little rough, outdated and not particularly clean. The bathroom was small and the toilet seemed to be like RV size. There is a fairly decently supplied kitchen if you wish to cook. The TV was older and the remote did not work and there was no remote for the DVD player. I could have stayed at Harrahs for the same price as this room.

We had an opportunity to visit Lake Tahoe last week and were very happy to have picked the Aston Lakeland Village as a place to stay. There were other options at large casinos, but I'm sooo glad that we didn't decide to stay in one of those places! For me that's not what a ski trip or being in the mountains is about, but then again I don't gamble - so if that is what you are looking for, then maybe this is not the place for you.

I loved the fireplace and kitchen in our rooms. We saved a ton of money because we did a lot of cooking and didn't have to go out and eat. We had a separate living room area from our bedroom and really felt like it was our home for the 5 nights that we stayed here. We rented several movies that were available on site and enjoyed watching them by the fireplace at night. Getting to Heavenly and going skiing was simple, just a few blocks up the road from the hotel. The hot tub and pool where perfect, and even got an complimentary continental breakfast that we weren't counting on.

The only reason I'm not giving the hotel 5 stars is because the first room they assigned to us was noisy, right off the main road and had a lot of cars driving by. We called the front desk and they moved us right away, no problem. Then, they moved us to another, much larger room - but there was a funny smell coming from the sink and disposal. We called them and let them know about this issue, and the fixed the problem right away. After these two initial problems, we settled in and enjoyed a relaxing stay at our home away from home in Lake Tahoe.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the back side of the building that isn't facing the main road to avoid traffic...

Stayed here for a week with five friends and the week was extremely enjoyable. Netherlands condo was extremely spacious and comfortable and has more than enough space for all of us. The availability of a washer and dryer in our condo was definitely convenient and made taking care of our laundry much easier than having to trek over to the main lobby building to take care of it. Additionally the pool/ hot tub area was nice. It was kept clean And was great after a long day on the mountian. The pier into the lake was amazing. The views were breathtaking. Additionally the free shuttle service at the village was extremely convenient and absolutely necessary.

Although the stay was mostly great, it was not perfect. Twice we came back to our cndo after being out on the mountain all day and the door was left wide open by housekeeping. None of us were happy about this and management didn't seem to do much about it especially since it happened the following day again.

There are two sections of Lakeland Village, the townhomes and the hotel. This review is for the hotel only. Rooms are spacious with small kitchen, loft area, separate bedroom, pullout sofa, balcony and 1.5 bathrooms. Our room was rather dated with old fashioned tvs, and a slight musty odor. Room decor and upkeep was very date, but I must say, the bed was comfortable!! It definitely needs a facelift. Service at the front desk was very friendly, but they gave us some wrong information for New Year's Eve fireworks information. Shuttle service is very convenient. They weren't able to take us everywhere and they seemed "sporadic" like they didn't have their rhythm down, but I've used the shuttle service in the past where it's been very efficient. We took the shuttle to casinos, California base lodge of Heavenly, and the Gondola. Shuttle can carry skis so it's very convenient to take to Heavenly. Kids ordered room service and most of the menu was unavailable and what they did order was poor quality.

Room Tip: Try the townhome section. Some are on the lake.

I have stayed at Lakeland Village a few times, it has become our go to spot when in Tahoe. The first time we stayed, a friend rented a condo from an owner via VBRO. It was a 3 bedroom w/ loft - plenty of room for our party of snow boarders. Having a kitchen is a definite plus; perfect for waking up to an easy breakfast or late dinner. Our subsequent trips were all booked directly through the resort. We've stayed in a 4 bedroom w/ loft for my husbands 30th birthday. It had three levels; great layout for our large group of adults. We've stayed in the a studio w/ kitchenette in the main building as well.

I have never had a bad visit at Lakeland Village. The complimentary shuttle is a definitely draw for us. It will pretty much take you anywhere on the main drag. It runs till midnight and will come pick you up upon phone request. When there is snow on the ground, all you have to do is open your door and play in it. They also offer lake view units; I plan on booking one this summer.

This place is so much better than staying in a Casino...no cooped up, smokey casino feel to deal with.
