Perfect location, friendly staff, beautiful view, nice breakfast and really relaxing sun deck! The owner of the lodge also owns the best restaurant in town, Casa de Comer, and all the Bahia Sonambula guests have 10% off.

Hello,
me and my girlfriend stayed at Baia sonambula for 3 nights during our holiday in South Africa and Mozambique at the end of July. We came late at night, but rang the manager and 5 minutes later we were drinking our welcome drink on the roof terrace. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main building.
The room was great, the bed was comfortable and the mosquito net big and didn't give us the feeling of being trapped in a net... There is breakfast on the terrace, free wifi (a luxury for mozambique!!) and planty of space to relax. If you can, book one of the bungalows, they looked amazing... Unfortunately they were all occupied when we were there, but i'm sure they worth the extra money....
Thank you to Gianluca and Stefanie and to all the workers at Baia Sonambula. We had a perfect stay.

Hello Everyone,
since me and my girlfriend have used Tripadvisore for many years we know how important it is to get good information about a place you are thinking of staying. We stayed at Baia Sonambula for just 4 days but we wished we had stayed longer. We stayed in Bungalow number 3 and it was amazing. With it's private terrace, reclying chair, and a big sliding door, with the ocean 50 mt away. The guesthouse has 3 bungalows and 2 rooms, plus 2 outstanding terraces with the best sea view you could possibly think of. The location is also perfect: 50 mt away from the beach, but slightly uphill, and that gives you peace, tranquillity and a great view. If you can try to get one of the bungalows, the rooms are also good but smaller than the bungalow.
When we got to Tofo by car we went around a bit looking for a place but on the upmarket side, Baia Sonambula, was the best choice for us.
The staff is very helpfull, they helped organizing the rest of our trip down to Maputo and were always there when needed it.
Since it has only 5 rooms, the atmosphere is quite and relaxed, perfect for a couple... so romantic
WORTH IT!!!!!

Room Tip: Go for room bungalow 1, 2 or 3. They are worth the extra money.

Baia Sonambula is one of the best places to stay in Tofo, Mozambique. Beautiful romantic guesthouse just near the beach. Beautiful views. Really nice people. Breakfast is really good, fresh fruit everey day and home made english breakfast, whatever you choose.
Rooms are really luxurious for Mozambique standards 4 star.
Nice comfy beds, good musquito net, nice ensuite bathroom.
Just great, relaxing, charming, beautiful and romantic place to stay in Tofo.

Room Tip: Room number 1, best room of the house, with ac.

I planned a last minute trip for a long weekend to Tofo with some friends. Baia Sonambula (http://www.baiasonambula.com/) was one of the only places that had vacancy- one room in the main guesthouse and one in the owner's house right on the beach, Casa Azul, which has separate rooms for guests and an awesome porch for lounging around and watching the sunset. The owner, Laura, is an incredibly sweet Italian woman who had helpful suggestions for seafood, diving and snorkeling. Our snorkeling expedition, by Peri Peri Divers right next door, was in extremely choppy waters but we saw humpback whales and swam directly with whale sharks and devil rays.

The guesthouse is a short walk from the central part of Tofo (which is quite small) where all the restaurants, bars and craft market are. In the guesthouse, the rooms have high ceilings, mosquito nets and probably the most comfortable beds EVER- I haven't slept so well in ages. There were no vacant bungalows, but they looked very nice. Breakfast was great (served on beautiful terraces overlooking the beach) and the service was excellent. I thought it would be difficult to find since the map on their website has no street names, but it's not hard- you take the main road from Inhambane to Tofo and once you get to Tofo, just watch out for signs. It's at the very end of the road, right on the beach. You don't need a 4x4 but the road is a bit bumpy! My only complaint is that the shower in our room (#5) was very temperamental- boiling hot or freezing cold. Other than that I highly recommend it!
