We take great pride in serving our guests with a selection of handpicked local ales and source as many of our ingredients for our menu from local farmers, butchers, bakers, fruit growers and gin makers! Lovely pub which we’ve been meaning to visit before now. It also has a really nice garden but due to the time of year it was understandably empty and it looks like they’re taking the opportunity to regrow the grass after a busy summer so don’t let it put you off.
We booked in advance, which was necessary as it got quite busy and there was a nice atmosphere. It’s pretty relaxed and not particularly smart and seems to be dog friendly too with a bowl of water by the bar which you need to watch out for to avoid stepping in! Good range of beers and wine and very good, friendly service. Staff could not do enough for us, regularly checking we had everything we needed without being invasive.
Great food and although the menu is relatively small, we visited on a Sunday so perhaps it’s bigger on other days. It did cater for most tastes though and all of our dishes were fantastic. Not huge portions so there was room for pudding!
Following on from the point about being dog friendly, watch where you sit as one of our party sat on a bench with cushions on and when she stood up her black trousers were covered in what we can only assume was dog hair…
All in all, a great pub in a lovely location for a nice, lazy lunch.

This pub is nice and sunny inside and there is also a nice garden at the back. We went for lunch and had a friendly welcome by the staff. There were 5 or 6 draught beers and the manager was obliging enough to give my cheeky friend a sample of some of them before he made his choice.
There are two private rooms that one can ask to use instead of eating in the pub, which are very cosy; but the main pub is a very attractive and spacious place to eat in. The menus change daily. I thought the main courses were fine enough , but nothing special - but the deserts!!! I had the best cheescake ever and my friends had other equally memorable chocolate and ice cream thingies.

Tim and the staff arranged a wonderful evening to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were lucky enough to have lovely weather and a beautifully laid table greeted us in the garden. The food was superb and the whole evening was a fantastic time for the whole family and freinds. Well done Tim and keep it up.

We had traveled down from Scotland to Gatwick and our plane was late. It was a 35 minute drive from the airport. We rang the pub and they said that they would keep the kitchen open for us, what great customer service. The food was excellent with a great selection and cooked perfectly. The service was excellent and there was a duo playing Americana style music in the bar which made it a great atmosphere. This place exceeded my expectations.

We visited The Three Crowns yesterday for a special reunion lunch. We received a very warm welcome from Tim (The Landlord) and his team and were offered the private dining room off of the main restaurant. This was wonderful as we had a lot to catch up on and was very intimate. Nicely decorated and furnished and ideal for a small group. Our two dogs loved it too as they had plenty of room to wander around, and were catered for with ceramic dog water bowls without being asked. (No plastic ice cream tubs here for doggies!)

We all chose the two course sunday lunch option which is very good value with plenty of choice. WOW! The chicken and chorizo terrine was to die for! The beef was beautifully cooked with fab yorkshires and plenty of vegetables. We added cauliflower cheese as an additional vegetable and were all totally stuffed. There was a great choice of desserts of offer however and we all couldn't resist. The treacle tart was beautiful with a slight hint of lemon. The wine list offers plenty of choice and again is well priced.

I was concerned that being in the priviate room, we may have been forgotten, or there would be extended periods in between courses. Not the case at all and I need not have worried. Tim and his team treated us like royalty! They were constantly checking on us, topping up glasses, etc and this can be a difficult thing to get right. The balance was spot on and the service was really First Class.

All of our guests were blown away by the food and service and I felt very proud that Tim and our village pub could impress those that can be harsh critics within the group. Everyone had a wonderful experience and lunch. When everyone left our home later that evening, apart from thanking us etc etc they all said to make sure that we thank Tim again when we saw him for a super time.

So Tim, thank you (and the team) once again for a really superb lunch, the wonderful warm, friendly and sincere service. You did us proud, and I hope that you feel proud of what you have achieved within a short space of time at The Three Crowns. We will be back again soon.
