“enjoyable stay”
Reviewed May 20, 2012

My husband and I stayed for an overnighter. The b & b is on the main road. I was concerned re road noise so requested a room at the rear. This room was very good, no road noise, and it was lovely overlooking the garden. The only noise you could sometimes just hear was a plane flying out of Gatwick. Bear in mind we sleep with the windows open, you probably wouldn't hear anything if it was shut. The double glazing is very good.
Sandie and Brian decored the room beautifully. It was quite a big room, with nice big chairs where you could sit and relax. Not very often you get that, so was greatly appreciated. The bathroom looked new, and was also extremely clean. Very well presented.
Its lovely when you have such a nice welcome after a busy day in the car, and our hosts certainly did that. We enjoyed a cup of tea and a piece of Sandys cake - very yummy. Nice thought.
Our breakfast was also very nice, and plenty to choose from. Parking was right out the front. We enjoyed a dinner next door at the local pub. Not bad, but there are a few places to eat not far away in the town of Petworth. A town we didn't get to explore, will next time. Very cute.
Thank you.

Back in Stockholm and reflecting on our journey in south England during the Easter, we have chosen the Old Pond Cottage B&B to our trip's top accommodation. The quality of the room, the range of the breakfast, Sandie's kindly helpfulness. The fresh milk in the morning outside the door for the cuppa was an evidence of the hostess concern for the guests. The value given far exceeds the price for the stay. Besides, a nice pub with decent food is close to the B&B, very convenient.

My boyfriend and I spent one night at old pond cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, spacious and cosy. We were welcomed with home-made cake and a cup of tea and in the morning fresh milk was left outside our door for a morning cuppa! The English breakfast was delicious, the b&b is also next door to a lovely pub which has really tasty food at reasonable prices. Overall, Brian and Sandie were great hosts and we'd certainly return. Thanks!

The best B & B we have ever stayed in! Wonderful hosts, room and breakfast. The family room was perfect for my husband and myself and 10 year old son.
The location is fantastic, our only sadness was that we only stayed one night! Can not recommend highly enough! We will be back...

We couldn't fault anything about Old Pond Cottage, hosts Sandie and Brian are friendly, welcoming and helpful and the cottage is pristine. (More so than many so called 4* hotels we have used!) We arrived late and left early, and wished we could have spent longer there, breakfast was delicious, lovely homely touches everywhere.
We also used the Three Crowns pub next door for a late evening meal, which was excellent.
Thank you for a very pleasant stay, hospitality at it's very best!
Carol and Paul.

Having booked this B&B for a suprise get away, we were really pleased that it was such a gorgeous place to say. Sandie and Brian we're very welcoming and friendly but non-intrusive, they gave us plenty of advice on where to go walking and where to eat all of which was spot on. The room was homely yet modern a provided more than we expected, the en-suite was particularly luxurious! And the breakfast was hearty and just what you needed to start the day off. We haven't really stayed in a B&B before, but this is now out highest benchmark for the future.. Thank you...

Wanted to visit old holiday haunt when I was a child, also Petworth House and Polesden Lacy. This was an excellent place to stay and the accommodation was fantastic. We requested a twin room and Sandie pulled all the strings to enable us to stay in the master bedroom which they had recently vacated! Breakfast was great and the welcome we received was superb. Can thoroughly recommend Old Pond Cottage - the village is also delightful as are the two pubs!
