We had a brilliant time at this chateau with a really large group of family and friends. The facilities were amazing and the condition of the house was brilliant. We have done similar holidays in the past and this was far and away the nicest property we've used in terms of cleanliness.
We were lucky and had really beautiful weather but we were impressed with all the things that were available to entertain you even if you were trapped indoors! The outside eating space was beautiful and we spent a lot of time looking out over the beautiful view and drinking wine. The pool was amazing, especially with the way it looks out over yet more beautiful countryside and I was really pleased to find that it was totally surrounded by fencing and so the kids couldn't get into it without an adult. It was totally freezing however, so we perhaps did less actual swimming than we might have done!
The long list of rules on arrival was a bit overwhelming, however, I assume this is because they've had some bad guests in the past and a lot of the rules were just common sense (e.g. don't clean the oven with the tea towels!) The owners were helpful and accommodating and they've done an incredible job rebuilding this property.
There was plenty to do in the surrounding area, but you definitely need car spaces for everyone and we were a bit sad not to have a bakery closer by for fresh pain au chocolat for breakfast.
The kitchen facilities were good and with additional kitchen spaces in the apartments we had enough space to do all the mass catering we were doing.
Overall an absolutely excellent holiday rental.
