“Great B&B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

My family and I have been visiting Bay Tree Farm for years, and it never disappoints. Val is an excellent host - and an awesome cook - and makes you feel very at home. On my most recent visit I was upstairs in the converted barn, in a large, spotless room with en suite and lovely view of the garden outside. Val is really knowledgeable on the local area, and has lots of suggestions on where to go and what to do (if you need them). Also, her cooked breakfasts are amazing!

This is my second experience of B&B and my first in England for many years. WOW! What a treat, we were spoilt rotten by the owners - nothing was too much trouble.

We booked through going on the National Trust Website as we wanted to ensure we stayed somewhere near a property we could visit during the back end of Autumn. Despite the weather being wet, wet, wet our experience of the Farmhouse B&B was not dampened; we were particularly blessed having a free upgrade to a larger room and lashings of hot drinks, and cake when returning from chilly days site seeing. The room and facilities were everything I expected and more. What a lovely couple and accommodation, more like a boutique hotel, but better. I have no hesitation in recommending and hope to be back soon.

You won't be disappointed here. I have no photo's to add because what you see on the B&B website is exactly as it is. Rooms are warm, welcoming and comfortable, especially the beds. Food is good and wholesome - plenty of it! Val is wonderful from the welcome to the departure. That must be why there are so many returning guests! We just had the most chilled out and relaxing weekend here. Just go!

Room Tip: All look good on the website, but we chose Meadowside and Barnside as two couples. Not many steps w...

I can't praise Bay Tree Farm enough! The rooms were clean airy and more importantly on a cold September day warm! We stayed in Barnside and the veiw over the garden is lovely. Though what makes this B&B so special is the owner Val I have never felt so looked after in a B&B greeted with a nice warm cuppa and some lovely flapjack she did her most to make us feel welcome without being too much, also a fantastic font of information for the area offering the best places to see and where to go. Val if your reading this thank you so much for a fantastic time Gemma &Gemma

A delightful edge of village barn conversion specifically for B & B - well executed with good sound insulation and retention of character features. Spotlessly clean and comfortable together with a warm welcome from Val, your host. A relaxed atmosphere pervades and guests naturally chat to one another over a good (and flexible choice) breakfast. We stayed for 3 nights mid Sept`12 and slept like a log. Highly recommended and definitely one of the few B & Bs that we would definitely return to!

Stayed one night. Val our host is so helpful and goes out of her way to ease your stay, driving people about and concerned that everyone has what they want. My room was just lovely with a superb shower. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful with locally sourced ingredients, all sat around the cottage dining table which was beautifully laid out. The setting is beautiful and my room looked out on the lovely garden.

Very comfortable and tastefully decorated bedrooms and bathrooms - with seemingly infinite hot water. Delicious and freshly prepared breakfasts and, on request, dinner. Friendly and welcoming proprietor for whom nothing was too much trouble. Situated in peaceful village a short walk from Fountains Abbey and a short drive from Ripon.
