“Really lovely! Very comfortable, great location, fabulous view...hope to go again.”

Whale haven is a lovely, comfortable apartment. It is right in the middle of Kalk Bay, a buzzing hive of activity, full of cafes, restaurants, shops and galleries. The views from the apartment are great: with the sea as a backdrop we sat and watched life happening beneath us, or went down and became very much part of it. We didn' t really feel the need to leave Kalk Bay in the 4 days we stayed there,it is such a lively place to be and with my 20 year old daughter and her 15 year old cousin, there was always something to do. It took me a little while to get used to the sound of traffic outside, most other places we visited in Cape Town were very quiet, however, the benefits of the location far outweighed the time it took to adjust to hearing cars passing, maybe Louise will consider double glazing on the front window in the future...it would then be perfect.....I will go back whatever!

“Whalehaven is perfect, idyllic,we could not have asked for more”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012 for a stay in October 2012

This second story apartment both in comfort and location is ideal for anyone .Everything in the apartment is stylish, top quality and comfortable from beds to crockery and equipment, cooker etc. The view from the front of Whalehaven is sublime and although we did not see whales which often come right into the bay we were treated day and night to an exquisite view of the quaint harbour to the right and on the left across False bay the dramatic mountains of the southernmost tip of Africa down to Cape Agullas. From the back verandah the view is up the hill and the beautiful houses of Kalk bay and there is a braai area here too. From the apartment one can be on the street in a few seconds. The town itself is full of vintage and quirky shops and dont miss eating at the Olympic cafe, a truly unique and world renowned South African experience. There are seals in the harbour most days so dont miss a walk here.Simonstown and the penguins is a short distance by car.
We will definately return and I recommend it to anyone wishing a hassle free and comfortable well appointed stay.

“FAR BEYOND ALL MY EXPECTATIONS”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2012 for a stay in May 2012

We spent a week at Whalehaven and enjoyed every minute of it and it exceeded all expectations The view from the website does not do justice to just how beautiful the view was, with windows that slide open the length of the living area. Sitting having my early morning coffee watching the boats going out of the harbour was just so special. The apartment is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could wish for. For a bit of the afternoon sun there is a cozy patio facing the mountain. The best part for me was that just outside the door, i could browse all the antique shops or sit and have breakfast, lunch or supper without getting into my car but at the same time also enjoy the view and quiteness from the apartment should we wish as well. Our best places to go to eat out were The Annex, Tribeca and Polanos at the Harbour is a must. There is also a beauty spar at the Majestic which gave top class service. A wonderful way to spend a holiday
