They make a really good fish and chips. Never disappointed. Friendly waiters and they sell at least 2 craft beers. Cbc amber weiss and jack black. Awesome view.

The first time I've been to the Brass Bell must have been at least 6 or 7 years ago. I was amazed to have found the place still serves their awesome Calamari when I recently managed to go there again. The quality of the food is excellent and the views from both the downstairs pub area and upstairs slightly more cozier restaurant are just amazing. If you're in Kalk Bay, this is definitely the place to stop for a good lunch/dinner!

The location is amazing, but the service was appalling when we went there for breakfast.
Main road was closed for the Argus Cycle race and the restaurant was almost empty, but there were plenty of staff on duty. More staff than customers.
Five of us ordered breakfast. The coffee came fairly quickly, but the simple breakfast orders (egg and bacon, nothing difficult) took over half an hour. When we got up and went to the kitchen area to ask (the waiters were either absent or ignoring us), we were told, with no apology, that it would not be long as most of it was "on the pass". The food arrived at least 10 minutes after this. The food was warm. Did they nuke it in the microwave to warm it up from the pass, or had they lied about it being nearly ready ?
Again, no apology for the delay, and no offer to serve more coffee or anything else.
We ate up quickly and were please to get out of there.

We are plucking up courage to try this restaurant again, to see if this was a once off shocking experience. Maybe lunch is better ?

I didn't like this huge complex in a shabby rundown mass and wasn't too impressed with the colossal amount of people jostling for a table.
The food was quite good but nothing spectacular despite a huge choice.
My husband asked 'is the curry hot' the reply was medium but it nearly blew his head off and the meal was ruined. Staff were run ragged.
I wont return.

We were seated on the first floor, above the main restaurant. From the outside, the place looks a little shabby and plastered together, but the excellent service, the tasty food and the fantastic views over False Bay soon makes you forget this first impression. The service was attentive and friendly, the food was tasty and we enjoyed watching the sea crashing onto the rocks where some hardy fishermen tried their luck. All in all a very recommendable place to eat.
