Thanks to the manager of Alea H&S for the great time we spent alongside with our kids on June 2012. Please do not hesitate to accomodate at this splendid location on the Thassos Beach. This is one of the most appropriate destination for an Aegean-sea holiday. No minus for the money we have payed.
Thank also for the souvenir of Alea !

Plus:New build hotel(2010) with 4 outside pools+1 inside pool,appartment with 2 bathrooms,terrace with sunbeds,pool bar,beach bar, sandy beach at 100 meters,international drinks at all inclusive.
Minus:Isolated location, lack of diversity in food at breakfast and dinner, poor food at lunch on the beach bar even after talking to the management, lack of animation, paid wi-fi,rude greek staff, grey sand on the beach, local drinks when the international drinks were done.

Room Tip: Choose a room near the pool , is more easy to use.

The hotel is new and nice. The service is ok, but some of the greek staff is not very happy to work there. Lot of facilities for small children. The all inclusive program is not well organized. Nothing to do in the evenings. The bars are closed after midnight. No drinks, even water in the mini bars.

If you want to stay only in your room and swim in the pool go to this hotel, otherwise keep away...Unfortunately the only thing I can define as "good" in this hotel were the rooms and the cleanliness of the rooms.
The food is really terrible, you cannot find anything to eat so you go outside of the hotel to eat something. I think they just collect the cheapest ingredients and try to cook. On the beach, they have water for anyone but not cold with 37 degrees outside. They don't even know, probably have no idea about making coffee or preparing a cocktail to drink. I paid 4 Euros for my coffee and left it as it was.
No smiling faces around, and no staff who could speak Greek. I wonder what the Greek people do if they don't know any English.
As a result, for the money we paid, we got nothing...

We are regulars to Thassos and this year decided to take an early and a late holiday. Whilst on the island in May, we decided to look for a 4 star all inclusive hotel for our next trip in September so we can relax and indulge.
We popped in to the Alea to have a look around and obtain some information, but were amazed at the arrogant and rude attitude of the receptionist (Maria or Mariana). She was less than helpful and when we asked for a brochure in English, she just shrugged her shoulders. As the receptionist is one of the most important members of staff in a hotel the greeting we received was more like 'Faulty Towers' than a 4 star establishment.
The hotel looked lovely, but we will not be going back!
