“Beautiful sailing get-away”
Reviewed April 24, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Claudio & Laura were great hosts on Cush. The islands and the sea were incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The boat was comfortable and the food (home-made bread & pasta) was amazing. A fantastic way to see the San Blas!

“Perfect cruise through the San Blas islands”
Reviewed April 2, 2018 for a stay in April 2018

We had a wonderful 4 night tour with Claudio and Laura who were the friendliest and most caring hosts you can ever imagine. Claudio picked us up from harbor close to San Blas and we sailed to the Archipelago at night. Then we spent 3 days on their fantastic boat sailing between different islands, kayaking, snorkelling and visiting local guna village. The highlight of the whole trip was the delicious food which was always freshly served including tuna caught by Claudio, cerviche, lobster and Laura’s home made bread. Since our hosts were italian we always had good wine, espresso and olive oil. No wish was denied and they baked a birthday cake for us. Overall we would highly recommend you to explore San Blas islands with this wonderful couple.

“Simply outstanding!”
Reviewed January 22, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

Our 4 days aboard catamaran Cush were better than we could have ever imagined! It all started with contacting Claudio. Communication was very easy and clear. Claudio always replied very promptly with precise answers and even offered to organize transport from our hotel in Panama City to his boat. He gave us clear options and prices - all of which were honored exactly as stated, including exact pick up times for departure.
Claudio and his wife Laura are an incredibly efficient team having sailed around the world and lived on/off their boat for over twenty years and been chartering in San Blas for five years now. They know their boat, the islands, the Kuna communities as well as the boating community for whom they serve as a reference : people come to Claudio for his excellent knowledge of all things technical as well to Laura for her skills as a seamstress, repairing sails, among other things. Although they never let that interfere with the service they provide to their guests, it gave the distinct impression that we were in the best hands we could wish for and felt very safe.
The boat itself has been meticulously and beautifully designed by Claudio and Laura over the years for spaciousness and comfort and is equipped with all the ameneties you could imagine on a boat! It is kept immaculately clean. The cabins are wonderful with comfortable beds, wash basins and ventilators and small windows to see outside. There is an indoor shower as well as two outdoor showers and it feels very spacious overall. The boat is also equipped with a kayak and paddle board as well as a small motorized dinghy and it is easy to get in and out of the water for swimming and snorkeling.
The owners are also mindful of their environmental impact and have installed a rain water collection system to provide fresh water (which seems to be in abundance!) as well as solar and wind power technology to supplement energy on board. They are incredibly mindful of trash disposal.
Food on board is absolutely glorious. The couple both cook. They buy seafood, meat, fruit and vegetables from the local people and cook it their way, Italian style with imported olive oil and supplemented with Italian wine. Laura cooks homemade bread in the oven and Claudio cooks the seafood, on the barbecue or otherwise! They were both wonderful with our daughter (10 years old) : when they realized she wasn't doing too well with the seafood, they always made her something special, in a no-fuss and beautifully presented way. They even taught her to make pasta! They also have the best Italian coffee and an incredible desalinization contraption for drinking water. The food was as much a highlight of this trip as the environment!
The hosts themselves are incredibly attentive: Claudio took us snorkeling with the dinghy and watched over us like a hawk. He immediately saw it when our daughter got tired and was there to pick her up. When she got stung on some coral, he immediately offered and gave her the right remedy. Claudio and Laura are both very discreet and give guests as much space as they need while being both absolutely wonderful, warm and interesting company and a joy to be with.
Finally, the San Blas islands are dream -like jewels of islands and their peoples, the Kuna are open and friendly. They seem to have found a good way of keeping their traditions and lifestyle while integrating education for their children and trade with tourists. Their animist culture is lived in a practical way and their art, the ‘molas’ are beautiful pieces of skilled craftsmanship.
All in all, this has been an absolutely unforgetful experience and we could never thank Claudio and Laura enough for their outstanding hospitality and friendship.

“Lovely stay in the picturesque San Blas islands”
Reviewed December 30, 2017 for a stay in December 2017

My family and I had a lovely time sailing around the San Blas islands with Claudio and his wife Laura. They were excellent hosts and took great care of us. The food was amazing - home cooked Italian meals with fresh, local ingredients. We had fresh lobster, octopus, fish, and homemade pasta to name a few. We went to a new set of islands each day and they shared lots of interesting information about the history of the area. Claudio’s catamaran is well outfitted for living and has a fresh water maker and other nice amenities. He and Laura have sailed around the world so they really know their stuff. The San Blas islands are incredibly picturesque and most definitely worth a visit if you have a few days to commit to the trip. It’s a bit of a trek from Panama City, but it was the highlight of our trip. Hope to visit again sometime!

“Perfect !”
Reviewed November 30, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Unforgettable sailboat trip to Guna Yala.
Very friendly, helpfull crew, we felt right "at home". Skipper Claudio knows the best spots/Islands to be visited. He and the onboard cook Marina spoiled us with very good food like out-of-the-water-fresh lobster, fish and pulpo. Daily fresh baked bread, homemade pasta etc.
Claudio also includes unlimited, fresh drinking water, red and white wine with the meals, beer, softdrinks etc.
We enjoyed swimming and snorkeling in the pristine waters of Guna Yala. Most of the time we were by ourselves. No other visitors or boats.
What an experience !
Thank you Claudio and Marina

“By far the best vacation and experience I have had in my life!”
Reviewed November 28, 2017 for a stay in June 2015

I have had the privilege of traveling many places in the world. And since beaches and Islands are my favorite vacation spots I am always exploring new and different locations. I can say after 30 years of searching and many many tropical vacations I have not only found the most beautiful place in the world for Islands with the clearest waters and whitest sands, breathtaking Islands, but my favorite.
The culture is untouched by modernization. The extraordinary community is not poverty stricken, however it is interestingly primal.
Cush was the best way to go a vacation. The only way I will go from now on is on a catamaran, I am spoiled for life! There is no comparison to the finest resorts could give the extraordinary experience Captain Cladio provided us. And The meals were unsurpassed. Seafood fresh from underneath you literally!
The journey to get to this paradise of string of jeweled Islands was an fun adventure all on its on. I cannot wait to go back!!!
