We stayed for 5 nights in one of the budget rooms with toilet attached. The room was very comfortable even though basic, clean, good bed and pillow, clean toilet with clean towels. There were lots of insects and mosquitoes especially in the evening but that is expected and the hotel provides us with mosquito coils and repellents. The budget rooms is slightly further from the dive center compared to the other rooms but generally it was a very comfortable and satisfying stay, especially for the price we paid. WiFi is strongest in the dive center. The room that we stayed in did not have very good signal for WiFi but it was okay if we were in the balcony. You can ask the housekeeping to change your towels and linens whenever you want them to. They are just below the budget rooms and are always happy to help. There was no hot shower but it was okay to take a cold shower with the hot weather.

Dives were well organized. The local DMs were young but good and quite experienced, we had a DM to ourselves (2 dives) for almost all of our dives. Boatmans were also very helpful. We also did a dive to Sophie Rickmers Wreck and it was just stunning! Proper safety precautions were taken and lots of prior briefing to make sure we knew what we were doing for the deep dive.

There were a few restaurants nearby but we couldn't eat outside because it was the fasting Ramadan month. We had our breakfasts and lunch in the dive center. Bread and eggs were provided all day long due to the fasting month. You could buy and take away from the restaurants that were open too. All the restaurants opened during dinner and we particularly like Limbo restaurant as they were quite friendly. Lumba Lumba also mentioned that they are looking to put up their own restaurant in the near future.

We had a wonderful time with Lumba Lumba and will definitely be going back with a bigger group in the future.

We stayed at lumba lumba for 10 days and loved it!

The diving is spectacular in everyway and never disappointed us! We stayed in a bungalow for one night then moved to the long house for the rest! Both are spacious, well designed and spotlessly clean! The dive centre itself is fantastic and equipped with everything!

Gapang beach is quiet and just has a few local restaurants which do great food, barracudas was a particular favourite of ours, she never disappointed! There is not much to do but dive and hang out in the dive centre or relax in a hamock on the beach which is fine as it keeps the beach idyically peaceful.

We though all the staff were fantastic and really made our stay worth while, housekeeping are attentive and really friendly and the dive masters are great fun and really know there stuff and didn't miss a thing in the water!

We will definitely be back and most likely do our dive master training as it is by far the best dive centre we have visited and also has some of the best sites, you would never get bored!

A special thanks to Robby, Joel, jim, Antonio, rose, merman and all the dive guides, you were fantastic company!

I had 3 nights at Lumba Lumba diving centre and had a brilliant time. The bungalows are large, clean, comfortable, have hot showers and WiFi, even offering a laundry service! It doesn't have a restaurant but does sell food and drinks if you want a snack however within 30 seconds you have a choice of local restaurants selling both Indonesian and European food. There is even a local delivery service - Mama pops round with her blue box of donuts and pasties and a motorbike selling fresh fruit and vegetables turns up daily.
The diving itself is excellent. I have never seen such a high concentration of species in one place, ranging from the big rays and sharks to the small shrimps and nudibranchs. There are often currents when diving but this just adds to the fun.
Great place to stay with great people both running the dive centre and leading the dives. Overall a brilliant experience and one that I would do again.

In June we sobbed l spent 5 nights at Lumba Lumba.
My partner did 7 dives and was very satisfied. Even though there was a very big group from Malaysia, there was enough attention for the few individual divers.
The bungalows are not very cheap, (we paid € 30 per night) but they are big, spacious with a light interior.
After three nights the staff came to change the sheets and towels, earlier changes can be made on request.
The manual in the room is very clear about what to do if you want your bungalow cleaned, but still, as a non-diver you feel that the accommodation is more like a side-business to the dive center.

Lumba Lumba has no own restaurant, but you have five small restaurants on the beach, my impression was they are all more or less the same in quality and price.
But because the guests spread over the restaurants and the communal space at the divecenter closes at 7 PM, you do not have much contact with the other guests. Maybe that's a pity at this location where there's not much to do in the afternoon and evening.
Still we had a good time there, watching the small geckos hunt and listen to our very loud tokeh (gecko calling his name).

We spent five days 4 nights on the island. First day, we reached the island in the evening because the journey from airport -jetty- island is quite far and the ferry shift is quite less, 2 shift for a day. Thus, we start our diving trip on the second day. i was taking advance open water course (2&half day) at lumba-lumba dive shop. Rosien, is a responsible, attentive and experienced instructor, she guides me to accomplish the course. When i failed to do certain actions under the water, she patiently repeat the actions and guide me to complete it. Besides, the underwater condition is nice, visibility is good and able to see variety kinds of marine life. Moreover, instructor and dive master will search the unique marine creature for the divers, they making an all-out effort to lead the divers to explore the wonder of under water. We stay at lumba-lumba cottage as well, which located behind the dive shop, the cottage is very comfortable and worth the price. There are 2 rooms and a living room in a cottage, hot shower, kettle and refrigerator are provided, and during the leisure time we like to lay on the sofa or hammock chit-chatting and eat some snacks. The staffs there are very helpful and friendly, they will try their effort to fulfill the customer's need and it is fun to have conversation with them. However, we stay there for few days but the room service cleaner only come for once, and i think the room cleaning service need to be improved. Lumba-lumba don't have own restaurant so the traveler usually will go to the nearby local restaurants having meals, and there always long wait for food to be served although that time not many customer dine in. Pre-order meal service is available in the restaurant and it can save a lot of waiting time. Overall, the trip is fun and excellent, i enjoy it very much.

Lumba Lumba is a very professionally run diving operation, located on a sleepy beach on the beautiful island of Pulauh Weh. The bungalows are simple but beautiful with all confort one can wish for a relaxing stay. The staff and owners do every effort to accomodate any of your wishes and make you feel at home. During my stay the place was fully booked so I couldn't book for the full time the bungalow I wanted but also spent a couple of days in the rooms with shared bathrooms. It wouldn't be my option for a next time but considering the price they are very clean and nice, though a bit noisy if you are unlucky to have the rooms above the engine room.
The diving is excellent and the divemasters professional and good spotters of all kind of exotic species. Though the diving might not be the same as good as Raja Ampat or Flores, it is still very good. Overall a great and relaxing place1

I just came back from Lumba lumba diving centre, Pulau Weh with my husband. It was awesome journey. From Banda Aceh, you can take a taxi to Ulee Lheue harbour to take a fast ferry to Balohan harbour (Pulau Weh). From there, we make our way to Gapang Beach where's the centre located. Nice view and the local dive guide was good. We had a nice dive though the current was strong. So many things to see. Lots of fishes. Our room which located right behind the dive centre was terrific for us. Spacious and clean, we also value the wifi signal as we can be connected with our families back home. I was not able to meet Ton and Marjan but the friendliness of their staff, make me feel their warmth welcome.

Room Tip: have a cottage for you and your partner. Spacious and nice
