“A great 3 month stay.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2013 via mobile

We are always in hotels. Because we travel all the time for my husbands work. We were pleased eack day of our 3 month stay with this location. I had set up our reservation in advance with needing to be there an extended length of time, I wanted to be sure we had a room with a full kitchen. Oven included. But some how I had asked for the wrong room type. The day we checked in they were almost booked to the gills but still got rooms moved around so that we would not have to switch. Excellent customer service from ALL staff. The Manager has a passion for the property that is refreshing. We watched him literally put his own sweat into the maintenance of this property. The rooms were clean. A quiet location. River and path right behind the property. We would stay here again.

So, normally I don't care at all about curtains. Aesthetically, the curtains were actually pretty. But, they didn't close. Not as in they were broken. As in..... the curtain rods were designed so that they would not close. That was actually the design. They are not supposed to close. And there were lights outside that kept me awake much of the night. Really? What's with that choice?

Good Afternoon,

I want to Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay with us here at the hotel. I want to thank you on the compliment about our pretty curtains; we strive to make each room appealing and as close to home as possible. I want to apologize that your curtains were not able to keep out the lights out side. Since your visit we have now installed in all rooms black out blinds behind all curtains. I hope that we can serve you on your future stays, to show that we have corrected this for you.

Sincerely, Angela M, Director of Sales

We stayed at the hotel on July 4 weekend for 4 nights. As an elite member of Marriott, we were assigned a room on the ground floor right outside the basketball court. We were told that the room will not be cleaned on July 4 because of short staff while the price of the room stays the same. Out of the 4 nights we stayed, we only had our room cleaned once. When complained to the front desk, all we were told is they don't know why and there was nothing they could do as the cleaning staff had all gone home.

We had to call the front desk two nights in a row to complain about noise from people playing basketball past 11:30 pm.

The mattress of the sofabed is so thin that you can feel every spring of that mattress.

The air conditioning in the room is extremely noisy when it is on.

They constantly run out of food items and condiments for the breakfast buffet.

We complained the above issues to the front desk when we checked out and was assured that the manager would call. No one calls to date. It is obvious that customer service is not a priority.

Room Tip: Insist on a room away from the basketball court

We recently spent 3 nights in this hotel. It was our third stay in this hotel. Once again our stay was very pleasant with our suite both clean and quiet. The hotel is located about 20 minutes east of downtown Spokane and about 25 minutes wesr of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. There are several malls, restaurants in the immediate area. The heritage trail is just behind the hotel and offers miles and miles of hiking or biking on its paved surface. It is a very pleasant trail that follows the river. There bikes that you can borrow at the hotel. Once again with this stay, we did not use the pool however this time we did try their hot and cold buffet breakfast. The choices were enough for us and the food was just fine. Once again, it was a very pleasant stay.

Our double 2 bedroom suite was overbook, sounded like this happens repeatedly because they offered us 3 nights stay at a different hotel for free but we were charged but 2 bedroom suite price when we had to settle for 2 one bedroom rooms. One other person in our group was charged the full $139.00 a night price when there was a group rate of $109.00 for our basketball tournament team and parents. (possible racially biased because they were not white and had a harder time with English than most)That's not much of a holiday when you can't have a conversation with your children unless you are unlocking doors all the time, manager seems very shady |I guess the people that had our room didn't check out because there house wasn't ready so insurance pays more so they got to keep our reserved room that my husband had phoned the Monday before arrival to confirm its availability. Liars!!!!Major security and safety issues, air conditioning so loud you had to turn it off at night just to sleep, there is a trick to open the pool door from the inside to get back to the lobby(something that only staff would know about) dishwasher was not attached to counter and almost landed on my husbands foot when we tried to load it, elevator close button doesn't work, was repeated told when I mentioned this that it is just slow!! doesn't work

Room Tip: Do not rely on customer service as there is none to speak of. confirm your reservation day of arriva...

We love the type of room the Residence Inn provides...we consider it great value . This location is handy for the Spokane Valley Mall.
However the breakfast provided was not up to Marriott standards....don't count on the breakfast adding to the value of this hotel.

My wife and I have stayed at many Residence Inn locations across the country and look for this brand when traveling. We were impressed on arrival with the friendliness of the front desk staff and how helpful they were. We were equally impressed with the color scheme in our room and through out the hotel's common areas. The furniture in our room was new to us and we hope the other Residence Inn locations will upgrade to this style. It was all very comfortable and made for a very pleasant 2 night stay.
