I really enjoyed the fact that this outing was just something different and I really enjoyed my visit there.

Have been there in 2009. It's a deplex apartment with two rooms for 4 person occupancy. Excellent view with relaxing environment. It provided with breakfast but it had been stored in the fridge in advance. You can enjoy the dawn view in early morning at the balcony

Great staff guidance through the wine tasting list without being pretentious. Lovely look out over the oval and Derwent River. Keep a look out for Neil the Peacock!

Loved the Chardonnay so much that I bought a bottle.

I recently visited MONA, Moorilla Estate's museum of old and new art, which was excellent, however was dismayed to find native birds (endemic Native Hens) entangled in twine from the vineyard. Very disappointing, especially given that we couldn't catch the birds ourselves and when I contacted Moorilla to alert them to the problem and see if something could be done (even going so far as to identify a team of people who could come and catch the birds on their behalf and have them given appropriate veterinary care at no cost to Moorilla)..... I had no response. Very bad from an environmental, animal welfare, public relations standpoint.

The Moorilla Estate restaurant (The Source) and Moorilla wine I have both tried previously and considered to be overpriced for what they are. They seem to be more about looking cool and less about coming through with the goods. There are far better, and cheaper wines in Tasmania although perhaps not drunk is so picturesque a location.

We stayed in Roy which was expensive but decadent. The children had a fantastic time and we loved breakfast. Dinner at the Source was fine but service a little too slow and a very hushed atmosphere, perhaps more suited to older couples rather than families or singles. Overall the atmosphere and service for the Pavillions was friendly and quirky rather than 5 star professional, perhaps trying too hard to be cool.
