“Delightful”

I stayed here before the gallery opend but there were still many fabulous pieces to see, the location overlooking the river was delightful, the pavillions are first class and the restaurant was also very good.

We stayed two nights at Mona Pavilions at Moorilla Estate in the Walter pavilion. The accomodation was fantastic and the two bedrooms well appointed with superb bathrooms. The upstairs one has a glass external shower wall looking out across the view.
We ate one night at the restaurant which was a beautiful meal. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and couldnt fault the service for the entire weekend. The wine tasting and tour of the brewery were highlights. We ate in the apartment the second night having bought some food at the large produce store in Salamanca place during the day. You do need a car as Moorilla is a fair way out of the centre of Hobart.
We will definetly return once the art museum is open.

Amazing accommodation. You'll need a car if you want to visit Hobart/surrounding areas.
Service was fantastic and the condition/facilities of the Pavilion "best of breed". We rated the bed A+. A perfect place to stay and escape.
Positives: staff, bed/linen, views, music system, art work, wine cellar, moobrew and a wonderful breakfast.
Negatives: Restaurant does not always open in the evening.

Fantastic for families looking for modern luxury close to Hobart.

From the moment we arrived to check in, the experience was absolutely perfect. We were taken down to our pavilion - Sidney - and were blown away instantly by the view. Once we had time to explore, we were still impressed with everything from the funky artwork to the general attention to detail - fully stocked wine cellar, fabulous Aesop toiletries, luxurious bed, great sound system with ipod dock - all perfect. Our only complaint was that we weren't able to stay longer as we had to check out early in the morning to get to the airport.

Would definitely stay again - it is my idea of perfect accommodation.

I cannot tell you how wonderful a trip to Moorilla estate is... from the outstanding staff in the winery, restaurant through to the unrivalled rooms, our entire stay was perfection. First of all, you must do the winery tasting, our host was simply amazing, knowledgeable (and very good at sales!) the wines are simply great so be sure to indulge. The food in the restaurant is really tasty, well presented and a well constructed menu. We were so satisfied with our choices and toddled down to our accommodation.. The view is sensational across the river the bathroom with the big glass window is just perfect for a long bath and a bottle or two.. We wished we could have stayed longer and there is nothing I would change, if you want a weekend away with wonderful food, wine and your favourite person... this place is the one.

I agree that Moorilla is a wonderful, beautiful, peaceful and nice accommodation, with stunning views from the spa + living room + balcony, plus a full-service kitchen + cellar.

However, I agree more with FussyGlobeTrotter who stayed here in Feb 08:
1. over washed bed cover, two single mattresses pushed together to form a double bed.
2. old TV in the bedroom
3. misplaced and too modest basin plugs for a Jacuzzi
4. misplaced heater – on the back of a so-called wine cellar, shouldn't good wine be properly cellared?
5. Hobart could be really cold and that was when we were there, inadequate heating as the old heater was not powerful at all. The two-palm size heater in the closet worked and paused on a 5-min interval…
6. breakfast wasn’t bad, but it was prepared before your arrival and stored in the fridge. Therefore watery muesli. Preserved fruits only, and the bread was hard.
7. late arrival – staff all busy attending to private functions and the restaurant was closed for the night. They promised to send through updated platter menu days before our arrival – not really.

ANYWAYS, we still thought it was one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in, and enjoyed it very much until we woke up…

Got up at 10ish and enjoyed the “continental” breakfast in the cold balcony – suited up as really wished to enjoy the alfresco breakfast despite the coldness. Done by 11 and started downloading a major system upgrade for my laptops – the WIFI internet connection was great, a plus. Meanwhile trying to ascertain the check out time and see if we could arrange for a late check out (we normally have 12pm as check out time in HK or even in US). Reception refused to give us any extension and requested immediate return of the room. My boyfriend went to the reception in person to request for 10 min extension or so bearing in mind that i was having a major system upgrade on WIFI and that the signals' strengths vary significantly from one spot to another - but they refused again.

Minutes later there was a cleaning lady or the sort at our door way, giving us the attitude as if she was digusted by us? I tried to explain to her that I would need another 5-10 min due to the download over WIFI. She pretty much ignored me and i could simply tell that she was very much annoyed by my presence still in the room. She even accused us of not returning the room on time, implying that we were doing that on purpose. Well, they were all too busy the night before for the wedding banquets and only one lady was kind enough to escort us to our villa in a hurry.

The best thig The most alarming thing was she said, " i am not going to argue with you". Oh, I thought i was the customer, and this is a 5-star hotel?

I would not go back again, as simple as that.
