“Great place to use as a base in Hobart”
Reviewed March 20, 2013 via mobile

Stayed three nights with two children under four. Camp spot was level, grassy and quiet! Stunning water views and the kids loved the resident ducks!! Camp kitchen was great and showers and toilets were clean. Wind was a bit of an issue but when camping, the elements are part of the adventure! Great spot to visit Hobart!!

We booked for 4 nights, but after 3 had had ENOUGH!
1. We were on the MONA side of the park, which exposed us to unrestricted loud concerts (not our choice of music) and to the MONA roosters who all seem to think dawn happens at 3:30 AM. With only water between us and them, the sounds all carried loudly enough to wake and keep us awake. We contacted both the caravan park and MONA but no one seemed interested in addressing our "problem".
2. There was a sewage pumping station right beside the caravan park -the air quality was terrible! Do not recommend this for anyone with a sense of smell....
3. The ladies toilets did not have sanitary disposal units, and the regular bins were not emptied for the entire 3 days we stayed there.... Ugh.
Despite these things, the camp kitchen was great, old but fully functional, lots of room & facilities, as was the laundry.
This was the cheapest caravan powered site we have come across, and as always... You get what you pay for!

This is a well managed park for a motor home or caravan, good facilities, clean, quiet and the staff are professional. The park is in walking distance to MONA and has good bus service almost at the front door. Easy drive down Booker Hwy to Hobart. There are two dump points on site and gas refills available. The sites are not too small so you don't feel crowded in. We did not sample the camp kitchen but it was very popular with the younger set.

If you get a waterfront t site. The views are great. A minor downside is the odd smell from the adjacent water treatment plant.

We stayed 7 nights and used it as our base for exploring around Hobart and further a field.

We have used s/c cabins in Caravan Parks for many years whilst travelling in Aust. and most have upgraded facilities as they have upgraded prices. Not the case here. Ancient T V with broken indoor antenna, dripping shower like a metronome all night. Staff pleasant but made no effort to address problems shrugging shoulders and blaming absent owners.

Booked a cabin accomodation for 2 night over the phone, booking was confirmed by a receptionist. On arival was advised that only one night accomodation was available. as this was a very busy weekend (wooden boat festival) in Hobart, all other accomodation was fully booked, I was not impressed. We were basicly without accomodation for the second night. Cabin was of poor standard, not very well maintained. I would not recomend this park to any body as I feel it is very poorly managed. "

We only stayed for 2 of the 4 nights we booked, the toilets and shower were clean but 2 out of the 4 showers in the block nearest to out site were out of order! Camp site are right next to the water but no trees for shade or wind shelter the grass we all dead not green and lush as on the web site and it is right next to a treatment plant and it stunk! We went out to 7 mile beach and it was much better!
